OMG, this isn't just a crypto problem anymore. Hackers are using AI to go after the whole financial system๐จโ ๏ธ
Take the Binance hack. They got into one infected laptop, then used the company's own internal AI tools as a stepping stone and worked their way into the wallet-signing system.
And it's not only crypto!! Look at the banks this week:
๐ซ๐ท French banking group Crรฉdit Mutuel Arkรฉa confirmed it got hit. Over $133M is involved, and the target was its online bank Fortuneo. Some transfers in the app still don't work.
Taiwan's Bank SinoPac had a wave of unauthorized transfers: 418 customers, 427 transactions, about NT$41.76M (~$1.3M), all sent to the same account.
AI makes attacks fast and cheap, and hackers can hit lots of targets at once. They used to pick a few big names. Now they'll test every exchange, every online bank and every vendor, one by one. If the defense is one step slow anywhere, the money's gone #AI #crypto #Hack
Anthropic's revenue is up 1,127% year over year, and big investors still want a discount on the IPO๐ค๐
The ask is now a $1.5T to $1.6T valuation. Last week's tech selloff gave them an excuse, but the real reason is in Anthropic's own filing.
Per CNBC, Q3 revenue came in around $17B. That's huge, but IPO buyers care about where growth is going, not where it's been. Quarter-over-quarter growth fell from 144% to 47%. Operating profit went from +$974M to a $567M loss.
Now look at the bills. Anthropic owes about $69.8B in compute payments over the next 12 months. At the Q3 pace, a full year of revenue is roughly $68B. So basically all of it goes to compute. And total commitments are $895B, with some running all the way to 2045.
Growth is slowing, profits flipped to losses, and the costs keep getting bigger. Of course they want a lower price, and some room for a first-day pop too #Anthropic #IPO #AI
Google just had its worst day ever. Down 13% on Friday. And I think it's one of the best dip-buying setups of the year, because Buffett's buying too๐๐
$GOOGL is now Berkshire's 3rd-biggest holding, behind only Apple and AmEx. About $37.7B worth. Buffett hadn't been a net buyer in 14 straight quarters. This time, he went all in on Google.
Here's what most people are missing๐
1.Search isn't dead. Everyone's been saying AI would kill it. Q3 search ad revenue was up 12% year over year anyway.
2.AI is already paying the bills. Google Cloud did $30.7B in Q3, up 103%, with about $11.1B in operating profit, and some of that came from selling its own AI chips. Models, chips, cloud: Google owns the whole stack. If a company needs compute, a model or an app, Google can sell it all.
3.The user base is insane. Gemini has 1B+ monthly users. Get even a small slice of them paying for a subscription and that's a whole new revenue stream. Revenue's going up and costs are coming down, so margins have room to run #Google #Buffett #EarningsSeason
The average Anthropic employee is about to be worth $60M+๐ณ๐ณ
Joined in 2023 and never left? You're looking at nine figures.
Even the folks who walked in the door this year are sitting on $10-20M in stock.
The math is wild. Anthropic was valued at $965B back in May. The IPO talk now is $1.5-2 trillion. Revenue up 1,300% year over year.
Before you get too jealous, though: it's double-trigger RSUs. The stock vests at IPO, gets taxed like a paycheck, and there's a lockup. Nobody's cashing out on day one.
But that money's coming out eventually. Thousands of brand-new decamillionaires buying houses, writing angel checks, backing the next wave of AI startups...#AI #Anthropic #OpenAI #Claude
Bitcoin turned 18 this week. It also got the worst birthday present possible: the biggest crypto hack ever ๐
Now Binance is reopening withdrawals in stages, and BTC was the first network to come back. Most of the stolen assets have been covered, and SAFU is backing the rest. There was no bank run. People stayed.
Rewind to Oct 31, 2008. Satoshi drops a 9-page PDF called "A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System." Lehman had just collapsed and banks were living on bailouts. In January 2009 he hard-coded a headline into the genesis block: "Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks." The whole point was simple: stop needing a middleman.
And every time something like this happens, you see the same pattern. Hackers go after people and centralized entry points. The chain itself keeps running.
18 years later, decentralization didn't kill centralization. They grew up together๐ช๐ช#Binance #Hack #BTC
Binance CEO Yi He just posted a video update. She's pregnant and has probably been up all day, so respect ๐
Here's what she laid out:
โข $6.3B affected, and $3B of it is already frozen thanks to the whole industry stepping in โข That's about 2% of user assets and reserves โข Binance is covering the gap with its own funds, mostly in the same coins, so there's no $6B market buy coming โข Withdrawals come back once it's confirmed safe, with tighter security standards โข Updated Merkle tree after that, so anyone can check their own balance #Binance #Hack
Amazon's earnings Thursday after the bell are a big dealโ๏ธโ๏ธ They're about to tell us whether this AI rally is real demand or just a giant cash bonfire.
Why Amazon? Because it's the biggest buyer in the entire AI supply chain. It's spending around $220B on capex this year. Nvidia chips, Micron memory, power for the data centers. If you hold $NVDA, memory names or power stocks, a big piece of their revenue is basically one Amazon check.
And that check is starting to hurt. Free cash flow over the last 12 months: -$7.6B. Amazon is burning more cash than it brings in.
The only reason it can keep spending like this is AWS. It grew 37% last quarter, with a $496B backlog. So the setup is simple: AWS growth around 40%? The AI money is actually coming back, and the whole AI trade keeps partying ๐ฅ Under 35%, plus another capex bump? That's how you get a panic selloff.#amazon #ai #EarningsSeason
#CanGoogleDefindItsCore Google just did something it hasn't done in 20+ years as a public company: it burned cash ๐จ
Free cash flow last quarter: -$5.9B. First negative print since the IPO.
Where'd the money go? AI. They raised 2026 capex guidance to $195-205B. That's over half a billion dollars a day on data centers and chips. Even Google's ad machine can't keep up with that.
Earnings drop after the bell tonight. Street wants ~$128B in revenue (+25% YoY), and Cloud could nearly double.
Honestly though, I only care about one number tonight: is free cash flow back above zero?
Positive = the AI spend is starting to pay off Still negative = the whole AI trade has to ask when this money actually comes back
Two trillion-dollar IPOs. SpaceX reportedly drained BTC and gold. Anthropic might drain AI stocks themselves๐ฉธ
SpaceX raised ~$75B in June. Crypto and gold took the blame, but big tech held up fine.
Now $ANT is coming in November. Rumored raise up to $100B, valuation $1.5-2T. Bigger number, different bleed:
1๏ธโฃThis money isn't coming from outside AI. It's rotating inside it. Everyone who wanted "pure AI exposure" now has a direct way in, and they'll fund it by selling the AI proxies they already own. 2๏ธโฃA lot of the big backers, Amazon and Google, are strategic. Much of it is compute-for-equity, so the real fresh cash needed is smaller than the headline. 3๏ธโฃWe've seen this movie once. After SpaceX, people will trim and hedge early, and a lot of the shock gets priced in before day one. 4๏ธโฃThe S-1 literally warns it may never be (or stay) profitable. That cools the FOMO for a lot of funds.
My take: maybe the biggest IPO ever on size, but probably a softer hit than SpaceX. Not the "drain of the century."
The ones that should worry are AI stocks with no story of their own.
Another scam?๐ ๐ Pump.fun and Kimchi blew up in under 48 hours
Just two days ago, Pump.fun co-founder Alon was hyping Kimchi as the first trader to truly cross over from crypto into pop culture. The idea was that crypto-rich celebrities like him would pull in retail investors from outside the space.
Today it all fell apart. Kimchi posted a promo image with a QR code that led to a new memecoin. Alon reposted it himself, and the coin's market cap quickly shot past $10M, peaking at around $15M.
Then Kimchi deleted the post and Alon undid his repost. The price crashed about 98%, and at one point the market cap was down to just a few hundred thousand dollars.
On top of that, Kimchi removed Pump.fun from his X bio, and their earlier interactions have been scrubbed too...#kimchi #KimchiPump
๐ฏ๐ตSome lessons you might be able to copy: who actually got rich during Japan's "lost decades"? 1.Selling cheap stuff. Tadashi Yanai became Japan's richest man with Uniqlo. 2.Buying the dip. When the bubble burst, assets were dumped at fire-sale prices, and foreign funds bought up bad loans and real estate for cheap. 3.Betting on the new economy. Masayoshi Son bounced back with Yahoo Japan and his early bet on Alibaba. 4.Making money overseas. Nintendo, Sony's gaming business and anime brands didn't rely on Japanese shoppers. They sold to the whole world. 5.Businesses like secondhand goods and elderly care actually saw more demand when the economy was bad #japan
A PHP vulnerability is about to cause chaos across the internet, and it was found by GPT 5.6 Sol๐ฑ ๐
PHP runs about 70% of the world's websites, including WordPress, Drupal and a huge number of enterprise systems. That's why this one is such a big deal.
The bug is called PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618 / CVE-2026-109619). It's a memory management flaw in the PHP engine. Under certain conditions, attackers can run code on a server remotely (RCE). It's rated critical.
A huge internet security emergency is playing out right now!!And the scarier part is that AI can now find bugs big enough to affect the whole internet #PHP #OpenAI
Anthropic's founder siblings' pay is causing a big stir!!
According to Anthropic's latest IPO filing, co-founder Dario Amodei and his sister Daniela each have a base salary of around $655K. That sounds pretty normal, right?
But once you add stock and option awards, their total pay for the year comes to about $18 million for Dario and $16.5 million for Daniela.
That's a lot for a company that hasn't even gone public yet #Anthropic
This is insane๐ฑ๐ฑA while ago, someone used AI to reverse-engineer the entire Adobe suite. Now someone has used Claude to crack Nintendo Switch games, and they don't even need an emulator. These are real native programs.
#CoreWeave CoreWeave plunged more than 15% a couple of days ago after plans to take on more debt spooked investors: the business keeps expanding, but can it afford the bill?๐ค๐ค
Then Jensen Huang stepped in to back it. He said CoreWeaveโs financial position is improving and the company is getting stronger every day. NVIDIA doesnโt even need to provide it with a financial guarantee.
Thatโs a clever endorsement: not โweโll bail them out,โ but โthey donโt need us to.โ
As CoreWeaveโs computing hardware supplier, NVIDIA clearly has an interest in seeing a major customer succeed. For investors, Jensenโs comments offer some reassuranceโfor now.
How long that reassurance will last is anyoneโs guess.
#Anthropic Amazing!!A 17-year-old prodigy from China, formerly at Kimi, was poached by Dario less than 24 hours after his departure was announced. He's now headed to Silicon Valley:)
He was a co-first-author of the Attention Residuals paper (which Elon Musk liked), contributed to the K3 foundational architecture, and was recruited into Moonshot AI's core team at just 16.
AI is seriously about to put a lot of game designers out of work!!
Opus 5.5 + Blender is an absolutely insane combination for game development. A 20-year-old Chinese creator turned The Little Prince into a fully explorable 3D game.
#meta Meta had been lagging far behind in the AI model race, and Zuckerberg was constantly mocked for it.
But over the past two weeks, the emergence of Muse seems to have completely changed the narrative. Thereโs no doubt that Alexandr Wang played a major role in making that happen
One thing Iโve always found interesting: no matter which leading AI model you look at, why does its core team almost always seem to include Chinese researchers or engineers?๐ค๐ค
