Buffett’s successor hits his first major stumble: Berkshire’s Google stake is reportedly sitting on a $3 billion paper loss🚨📉 Alphabet has fallen more than 24% since June. But before everyone pins this on Greg Abel, remember: Buffett previously said buying Alphabet was his decision. Abel now has to decide what comes next. Hold through the selloff, buy more, or rethink the position? Google’s reported Q3 earnings miss and negative free cash flow have put its AI spending under the microscope. Investors want to know when those enormous bills will start paying off. Meanwhile, Berkshire’s Class A shares just hit a record high. Its insurance and railroad businesses still matter, and it ended Q2 with roughly $365.5 billion in cash and related liquid assets. A $3 billion paper loss on $GOOGL is literally pocket change for Berkshire when they have $365B in cash sitting around 😂 Retail panics over the AI spending bills, but these guys play a decades-long game. Abel won't lose any sleep over a 24% dip.

Google just had its worst day ever. Down 13% on Friday. And I think it's one of the best dip-buying setups of the year, because Buffett's buying too😁😁 $GOOGL is now Berkshire's 3rd-biggest holding, behind only Apple and AmEx. About $37.7B worth. Buffett hadn't been a net buyer in 14 straight quarters. This time, he went all in on Google. Here's what most people are missing👇 1.Search isn't dead. Everyone's been saying AI would kill it. Q3 search ad revenue was up 12% year over year anyway. 2.AI is already paying the bills. Google Cloud did $30.7B in Q3, up 103%, with about $11.1B in operating profit, and some of that came from selling its own AI chips. Models, chips, cloud: Google owns the whole stack. If a company needs compute, a model or an app, Google can sell it all. 3.The user base is insane. Gemini has 1B+ monthly users. Get even a small slice of them paying for a subscription and that's a whole new revenue stream. Revenue's going up and costs are coming down, so margins have room to run #Google #Buffett #EarningsSeason

Google is “bullying” schools into accepting its AI—a remarkably bold strategy! Starting in 2027, Gemini and Google Search will be “off” by default for K-12 student accounts. That sounds good, but if schools reject AI altogether, they’ll also lose access to basic Google Search. It’s a clever but high-pressure move. Google says AI and Search have become so “integrated” that they can’t be separated. In reality, this forces schools to choose: use Google’s AI or find another provider for an essential search tool. Despite concerns that AI could encourage cheating and weaken critical thinking, Google is still pushing ahead with integration. This shows that tech giants won’t stop promoting AI, shaping how future generations learn and work. Will Google’s strategy accelerate the global wave of AI adoption, or create opportunities for more decentralized solutions in the future? #AI #Google

Alphabet just lost $500B in a day. Here’s what actually happenedAlphabet ($GOOGL) just had one of its ugliest days ever. More than $500 billion in market cap gone, and the big indexes went down with it. The earnings were the trigger. Revenue grew 25% to $127.6 billion, which is strong, but EPS missed consensus by a lot. A miss like that on the bottom line usually means institutions sell now and read the call later. Search is what people are actually nervous about. Growth in core Search came in slower than expected, and the fear is that AI answers are cannibalizing ad revenue. Search also dropped below 50% of total revenue for the first time. Cloud growing fast explains some of that, but the market read it as lost ground anyway. Then there’s the spending. Capex was $51.4 billion in Q3 alone, mostly AI infrastructure and Google’s own TPUs, and free cash flow went to -$9.1 billion. Investors will put up with a lot of AI spending, just not forever without margins to show for it. There is a bright spot. Cloud revenue more than doubled to $30.7 billion, so businesses clearly want AI. Some analysts think being less dependent on search ads is healthy anyway. Others aren’t convinced. Came across the official Google Jules changelog: Jules, the asynchronous coding agent, is shutting down—officially on December 31. Key details: You can still finish running sessions until November 11; after that, it’ll be read-only through the end of the year. Settings, environment variables, scheduled tasks, repository memory, session history, and more can be exported locally. Code, branches, and PRs on GitHub are already there and won’t be affected. Google says Jules’ experience will be folded into its agent-first platform, Antigravity, but hasn’t promised one-click migration of sessions or memory. Google has finished its first experiment with asynchronous coding agents and is starting to consolidate things under Antigravity. #AI #Google #Jules

I came across Google Project Suncatcher’s “Hello World”: the prototype satellite launched on 10/1 ran an AI response on its orbital data-center-class TPU for the first time this week—and the onboard Gemma 4 wrote a space haiku: Blue marble below Data streams in silent grace Starlight feeds my core. ✨ The ground station confirmed successful uplink and downlink as it passed over Svalbard, Norway. Next up: testing thermal stress and radiation; after that, a twin-satellite linkup in 2027. Space computing has gone from a PowerPoint to actually “spitting out words” in orbit. Pretty sci-fi. #AI #Google $GOOGL
