📰 This one is a bit unexpected: according to DefiLlama data, over the past 24 hours, the protocol revenue of both Pons and Fomo has surpassed Hyperliquid. Pons is about $1.85 million, Fomo about $1.77 million, while Hyperliquid is only about $866,500.

🔥 To put it more intuitively, the three rank 4th, 5th, and 7th on the protocol revenue leaderboard respectively. To be honest, a shift like this is hard not to take a second look at, especially since Pons and Fomo jointly pushed Hyperliquid down this time.

On-chain data analysis in practice—see a project’s real health condition

I previously recommended some tools, and today I’ll walk through the analysis process with a concrete example. Suppose you’re eyeing a DeFi project and want to know whether it’s healthy. Follow the steps below.

Step one: search the project name on DeFiLlama. Check the trend of its total value locked (TVL). Is it growing or declining? If TVL keeps rising, it means more capital is flowing in—users are voting with real money. If TVL is steadily falling, you need to find the reason: is the whole sector cooling off, or is there a problem with the project itself?

Step two: look at its fees and revenue. DeFiLlama usually lists how much fees the protocol collected and how much it distributed to token holders. If the protocol has ongoing revenue and that revenue is growing, it indicates that its services are something people are willing to pay for. If revenue is nearly zero, the token’s only upward driver is new users taking over—such a model is not sustainable.

Step three: go to Dune or Nansen to examine the distribution of token-holding addresses. What percentage of the total token supply is held by the top 100 addresses? If it’s above 60%, it suggests highly concentrated holdings and strong market-maker control—price is easily influenced by a small number of people’s actions. Also check whether the total number of addresses is increasing or decreasing, and whether there are many new addresses. These reflect the true state of user growth.

Step four: check the official Twitter and community channels of the project to gauge the vibe. Don’t just look for loud optimism—look at the quality of discussion. Are people seriously discussing how the product is used and technical issues, or is it nothing but slogans and profit screenshots? A high-quality community may not be noisy, but it will definitely be substantive.

After these steps, you’ll have a fairly three-dimensional understanding of a project’s basic health—more reliable than trusting any KOL’s analysis.

I just came across something VERY VERY INTERESTING 😵

BounceTech @BounceTech is a DeFi protocol live on mainnet since 2026 built on Hyperliquid (it brings together HyperEVM and HyperCore).

Let me explain the IDEA because it’s REALLY GOOD:

1/ You deposit USDC and in return mint an ERC-20 token that corresponds to a specific position, for example HYPE Long 5x.

What you get is a liquid leveraged token in your wallet equivalent to having, for example, $500 in HYPE after depositing $100. Also, the protocol supports 200+ listed assets on Hyperliquid.

2/ What happens behind the scenes? The protocol opens and rebalances perpetual positions on Hyperliquid to maintain the target leverage.

3/ So, you simply choose the direction of the asset, but YOU ARE NOT LIQUIDATED like in a normal perp. If HYPE goes down in price, the token just loses value, but the same applies in reverse if you positioned in Short.

4/ At all times you can exchange that token for the value of your assets in USDC, and you could also use it in DeFi within a pool or in a Lending protocol when this kind of integration exists.
