#Bittensor has introduced a quantum-resistant wallet featuring post-quantum signature support and optional automatic key rotation. The wallet is compatible with both coldkeys and hotkeys, enabling $TAO transfers, staking, and validator weight configuration. Bittensor’s quantum-resistant wallets support three post-quantum signature options: ML-DSA-65, Falcon-512, and Falcon-1024. ML-DSA-65 is standardized by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

The optional key-rotation feature replaces the signing key after each user-authorized on-chain transaction, disabling the old key while preserving the account address, balance, and staking. The recovery phrase remains unchanged. Rotation requires registration and a one-time, permanent lock of 0.2 $TAO , while wallets without the feature enabled require no registration.

Feels like the AI names are giving back their gains along with the rest of the market. $TAO is holding around $235.2 after bouncing from $217.8 — and this time sellers are not getting a chance to push it back down.

Yesterday price went up to $239.9, then a small cool-off came, but still price is trading above EMA 7 at $233.4 and EMA 25 at $231.9. This is a good sign. When price holds above its EMAs after a pump, it means buyers are still in control.

On the 4H chart Supertrend is green below at $220.1 and SAR dots are still under price at $224.1. BOLL Upper Band is at $238.0, price is just below it. RSI is at 63.8 — cooled down a bit from 68, so now there is more room for upside. Volume today is around $12.05M, lower than yesterday, so the next move will need fresh volume.

The main wall is still EMA 99 at $245.0 above. Until that breaks, this is still a bounce.

I’ve seen this Bittensor post-quantum wallet news for the fourth time already.

On October 22, they said it was being tested and wasn’t on mainnet; on October 28, they said it had been approved but not yet launched; on October 30, they said release 487 had merged ML-DSA-65 and Falcon signatures; then on November 6, they changed the headline to “Officially launched.” One story split into four parts, each getting a wave of TAO accounts reposting it and calling it bullish, plus bot accounts slapping a “Bullish 90%” label on it.

Honestly, this is a good thing in itself, and there’s nothing wrong with moving forward. But the key word is “optional.” Your old wallet doesn’t automatically become secure. If you don’t actively switch signatures and rotate your keys, your coins are still protected by the same old lock. When Q-day really comes, the first addresses to get cracked will be the old ones whose owners couldn’t be bothered to act. That has absolutely nothing to do with whether the chain supports it.

And as for right now, machines capable of using quantum computers to break ECC don’t exist yet. Just look at the market to see the effect this news has had on the price: TAO is currently at 222.2 on Binance, down 1.77% over 24 hours. The market is more honest than Twitter.

I’m all for technical upgrades; I’m not buying them as a pump narrative.
