🚨 STOCKS | Nvidia Just Got a Much Bigger Competitor in China
China’s AI chip race just accelerated again.
Huawei announced today that it plans to launch two new AI chips in 2027:
Ascend 960DT — Q1 2027
Ascend 960PR — Q3 2027
But the chips themselves may not be the most important part of the announcement.
Huawei is also expanding its UnifiedBus technology, designed to connect enormous numbers of AI processors into a single computing system.
The company says its architecture can scale to superclusters linking up to 1 million AI processors.
And Huawei isn’t starting from zero.
It has already delivered more than 1,000 AI supernodes to over 370 customers.
Why does this matter for investors?
U.S. export restrictions have limited China’s access to Nvidia’s most advanced hardware.
Instead of killing Chinese AI demand, those restrictions are helping create a massive domestic market for alternatives.
That changes the
$NVDA story.
Nvidia still dominates global AI accelerators and has a major advantage through its software ecosystem.
But China is increasingly trying to build an entire parallel AI computing stack.

The bigger question:
Can Huawei turn China’s restricted access to Nvidia chips into one of the world’s largest captive AI hardware markets?
