MetaMask says all affected Ethereum validators operated by its staking service have now exited following September's infrastructure incident. Some staking customers have experienced withdrawal delays, and the company is still addressing outstanding customer impact. In its November 5 update, MetaMask reports that an attacker briefly changed the addresses receiving execution-layer rewards for certain validators, diverting about 0.385 ETH. It says it found no evidence that customers' staked principal or withdrawal keys were compromised. The reward addresses and the keys controlling withdrawals serve different purposes. Exiting a validator is one step in returning staked ETH. Funds can take additional time to become withdrawable or ready to stake again, and MetaMask says the precautionary exits may also have meant missed rewards. MetaMask says wallet users do not need to take action over this incident. Customers whose staking arrangements were affected should follow guidance from MetaMask or their staking provider. Injective just got a Wall Street wrapper with a twist: staking. Nasdaq approved the listing of Canary Capital's staked INJ ETF, ticker INJC (per SEC filing). $INJ led the CoinDesk 100 gainers, up ~6% since midnight UTC and ~10% over 24 hours (CoinDesk). Most spot ETFs hold the coin and earn nothing. A staked one can pass yield to holders, which could pull in a different kind of buyer. Worth watching: first-week INJC flows vs. the HYPE and SOL products. Will staking make ETFs the default wrapper for proof-of-stake coins? Yes or no? Not financial advice. #INJ #CryptoETF #Staking #Altcoins

Ethereum's long-running debate over how much new ETH to pay validators took the stage at Devcon 8 in Mumbai on November 4, 2026. The issuance roundtable (08:00–08:55 UTC) focused on EIP-8363, a draft called "Tapered Issuance Burn" that would burn a growing share of validator rewards as more ETH is staked. It was an open discussion, not a vote: the authors withdrew the draft from the Hegotá upgrade on October 1, 2026, and proposed follow-up workshops, a tentative January forum and an April forum at EthCC. The outcome matters for stakers. Bitwise estimated that fresh issuance made up about 96.3% of average gross staking yield in Q3 2026, and a TECHi model using ~44.3M active ETH suggests the draft would leave idealized duty rewards about 26% below the current schedule at activation. Meanwhile, $ETH led the majors on November 4, up roughly 6.7% in 24 hours per CoinDesk data. #Ethereum #Staking #Devcon DYOR. Not financial advice.

Why could TON’s largest validator strengthen the network’s decentralization?Telegram could become the largest validator on the TON network, and the unexpected result is that this strengthens decentralization rather than threatening it. $TON The idea is that having a player of this size among the validators opens the door for other large entities to join in validation, without the network becoming centralized. In this way, Telegram acts as a balancing force: its large size doesn’t exclude others from participating; instead, it makes competition to validate more worthwhile.

After more than 3 years of being blocked, New Jersey residents can finally stake on Coinbase again — but the button hasn’t actually lit up yet. The facts: New Jersey’s securities regulator lifted its 2023 cease-and-desist order against Coinbase’s staking services in an Oct. 30 notice (signed by acting official Keith A. Alt), including the $5 million fine. The order was lifted “without prejudice” — with no ruling on who was right or wrong, and the state can take action again later. Coinbase disclosed this in its Q3 filing (the regulator notified it on Oct. 29). CEO Brian Armstrong said access would return “very soon,” but as of the evening of Nov. 2, Coinbase’s eligibility page still listed New Jersey as a region where users couldn’t stake new funds, and no exact date had been announced. My take: this isn’t a full victory — it’s an open door that you still can’t walk through. What matters is the momentum: five states backed down in Mar–Apr 2025, now New Jersey has followed, while California, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Washington are still pursuing Coinbase over staking. As long as those four remain, the U.S. staking landscape will stay patchy, not uniform. And “without prejudice” means this story could be reopened at any time. What I’m watching: the date New Jersey staking goes live in the Coinbase app, and whether the remaining four states follow suit. What do you think — is a reversal like this a sign of U.S. regulatory easing, or just a pause before new enforcement? The three-year regulatory blockade on exchange staking across U.S. states has finally developed a crack. According to BlockTempo and Cointelegraph, the New Jersey Bureau of Securities revoked its cease-and-desist order on October 30. The bureau also withdrew the $5 million fine it had imposed on Coinbase’s staking service. Coinbase later confirmed the development in its third-quarter earnings report, with CEO Brian Armstrong saying local users would soon be able to stake again. The decision ends a restriction that had prevented New Jersey residents from staking new funds on the platform for more than three years. However, a document signed by Acting Bureau Chief Keith A. Alt states that the move is “without prejudice to future action,” and does not reach a definitive conclusion on whether staking constitutes a security. Meanwhile, lawsuits in California, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Washington are still ongoing. California’s case involves more than 600,000 accounts, with users estimated to have missed out on over $89 million in staking rewards; the figure in New Jersey exceeds $15 million. The state-level regulatory battle is clearly not over yet. This development has a direct impact on Ethereum’s capital flows. Coinbase is one of the major compliant node service providers in the U.S., and Ethereum is the main asset it stakes. According to on-chain data, the total amount of Ethereum staked across the network has surged to 43.8 million ETH, or about 35.9% of the circulating supply. As the number of validators continues to grow, Ethereum’s staking yield has fallen to around 2.6%. Binance spot market data shows ETH currently trading sideways near $2,258. The reopening of compliant channels can indeed bring back some staked assets, but amid low yields and high interest rates, the expected inflow of additional capital is relatively modest. There are two indicators to watch going forward. First, after Coinbase resumes staking in the state in mid-November, whether the number of validators in Ethereum’s Beacon Chain entry queue rises noticeably. Second, whether major states such as California follow New Jersey in dropping their cases after the midterm elections. If California presses ahead with its lawsuit and the queue does not grow, the impact of this wave of state-level easing on spot buying of Ethereum will be very limited.
