🇺🇸📈 Texas takes on Wall Street

The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) is about to achieve a decisive milestone: Energy Transfer, an energy infrastructure company valued at roughly US$75 billion, is preparing to move its primary listing from the New York Stock Exchange to the new Texas exchange, possibly as soon as next month.

The move would be far more than just an administrative change. It would represent the first major jump of a publicly traded company from New York to TXSE and would bolster Texas’s ambition to become a new financial hub in the United States.

TXSE, headquartered in Dallas, began trading operations this year and has the backing of major financial institutions such as BlackRock and Citadel Securities. In addition, the leading index providers —S&P DJI, MSCI, and FTSE Russell— have already updated their methodologies to include securities listed on TXSE.

If Energy Transfer follows through with the move, Texas could be taking the first serious step toward breaking the historical duopoly of the NYSE and Nasdaq in U.S. corporate listings.
