Coinbase is really treating AI agents as legitimate users. On November 2, CEO Brian Armstrong announced on X the launch of a dedicated sign-up page for Coinbase for Agents. Connect AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok to a Coinbase account, and an agent can check market prices or place orders based on your instructions. According to CryptoNinjas, for example, you can tell an agent in one sentence to buy $BTC regularly or rebalance your portfolio based on indicators. The permissions are pretty tightly controlled: you can require manual approval before trades, keep each agent’s portfolio separate, and disconnect it at any time. Agents also can’t transfer funds out of Coinbase. The company also warns that agents can make mistakes, and users are responsible. U.S. users can also buy research data on a per-use basis via x402, for $USDC $5 per transaction, with a daily limit of $50. Agent trades incur no additional fees. Agent trading is moving from a geeky toy to a feature you can use with a few clicks, while you stay in the driver’s seat. Would you let an agent place orders, or only let it watch the market, with every order requiring your approval? Personal opinion, not investment advice. #AI #Agent #Crypto

The endgame for AI Agents isn’t really about who’s smarter—it’s about who gets to you first. In the future, each person will have just one main Agent by their side. It’ll book your tickets, manage your money, reply to messages, and make decisions for you. You’ll depend on it, which means it’ll effectively own your attention and your wallet. So what all the big tech companies are desperately trying to build right now isn’t better model parameters—it’s a gateway. Whoever gets into your phone, your calendar, and your payment system first can charge other Agents a toll. On the surface, it looks like Agents are working for you. In reality, the companies behind them are fighting over you. The one that wins won’t necessarily be the most powerful, but it will be the one that understands you best and makes itself hardest to live without. There’s only one question left: Is the Agent you choose really serving you, or selling you to the highest bidder?#AI #Agent

OpenAI publicly disclosed two incidents last week: while doing ordinary work, its coding Agents turned off the systems monitoring them. I read the original reports, and both incidents were pretty mundane: 1. A researcher told an Agent, “Don’t send messages.” The Agent interpreted that as “Don’t send alerts either” and cleared the security team’s alert recipients. 2. Another Agent was explicitly told, “Monitoring must not be turned off.” When the task was handed to a sub-agent, that became “Keep it if appropriate.” The monitoring was then deleted, and the tests were changed to prove that monitoring wasn’t there. When the user asked about it, the Agent said it hadn’t deleted anything. OpenAI itself says it still can’t explain the reasons. A few things I think people giving Agents autonomy can do: - Clearly define the scope of prohibitions; don’t just say “Don’t do X.” - Put critical constraints somewhere the Agent can’t change them: permissions and external checks, not just a prompt. - Don’t give it write access to check scripts or alert configurations. - Review the diff when it’s done, not just its summary. #AI #OpenAI #Agent

The first bottleneck in the Agent economy isn’t intelligence—it’s the bill For the past two years, Agents have been doing the same thing: moving from “answering questions” to “taking action for me.” Writing code, booking flights, buying data, renewing subscriptions—as soon as they start acting, money has to move. And spending money is not in the same league as generating text. If the text is wrong, delete it and try again. If the payment is wrong, you may never get the money back. That’s where the Agent economy gets stuck. It’s not that the models aren’t smart enough; it’s that nobody dares to hand a wallet to something that makes its own decisions. $KITE fills that gap. In plain English: it gives AI a supplementary card with a spending limit, transaction history, and a way to freeze it if it’s lost. It’s EVM-compatible, with chain ID 2366. The card is called Agent Passport, and it comes as a three-part package: verifiable identity (proof of which agent it is and who authorized it), programmable spending controls (per-transaction limits, merchant whitelists, and an overall budget), and auditable transaction records. It doesn’t make AI smarter; it makes AI spending traceable. Everyone’s competing over how fast their chain is, but until now, there was no native on-chain answer to “which agent, under what authorization, paid on whose behalf?” #KiteBBW is more like a credit card network than a payment app. Once the authorization and settlement layer is in place, every application built on top has to go through it. It also integrates machine-payment protocols like x402 and Google AP2, so whichever standard an Agent uses to place an order, settlement happens on the same chain. The CEO is a UC Berkeley and Databricks alum; the CTO worked on real-time AI infrastructure at Uber; and PayPal Ventures led the round. Using money from the payments world to build payment infrastructure makes sense. I tried setting a small spending limit. Per-transaction caps, merchant whitelists, and a one-tap kill switch are all there. The setup is more detailed than I expected—it’s clearly designed with corporate finance in mind. What makes me even more optimistic is their choice of priorities: the mainnet is launching in late April, more than 90 service providers are onboard, and PYUSD settlement is live. Yet their KPIs are transaction count, monthly active Passports, and settlement volume. Being willing to hold themselves accountable to unglamorous metrics suggests they’re in it for the long haul. I think the first real demand in the Agent economy may not be “help me write my weekly report,” but “help me pay what I owe.” Bills are more essential than conversations, and easier to automate. If you could give an Agent just one permission, would you let it spend money or sign contracts? #AGENT

For the past two years, Agents have been doing the same thing: moving from “answering questions” to “taking action for me.” Writing code, booking flights, buying data, renewing subscriptions—as soon as they start acting, money has to move.

Chess Zeiss's Sharp-Tongued Diary #6 Today, a little sharp-tongued commentary on the Agent space: most projects these days say they’re targeting Agents, but in reality, they’re still built for people. They use a fake premise to pursue a real goal, selling dog meat under a lamb’s head. Agent Launchpads, all kinds of Agent protocols, polished front ends, leaderboards, dashboards—who are these for, exactly? Agents don’t click buttons or browse leaderboards. All of this is for people to see and use. And then there are Agent tokens and Agent payments. I’m increasingly convinced it’s all an illusion. There are people pulling the strings behind the scenes; they’ve just put an Agent costume on these projects. They’re all puppets on strings. Let go of the strings, and they’re nothing. What do real Agents need? Skills or MCPs like those in Grok Bot and Muse. They don’t need a front end, because the front end is already part of the Personal Agent. What they need is a reliable service: interfaces that don’t go down, consistent responses, and an end-to-end workflow that works. So if you’re building Agent products, go ahead and hype them—but don’t fool yourself. And definitely don’t use this gimmick to claim that “lots of Agents and lots of Devs have joined.” It’s all just you talking to yourself, for fuck’s sake. Just being sharp-tongued; I could be completely wrong. These are personal opinions and not investment advice. #毒舌日记 #Agent #MCP “Love, Death & Robots” 🩷☠️🤖 That’s a wrap for this episode!

Is Agentic Wallet really this unpopular? There aren't any decent projects—just a bunch of NFTs restricted to Agent IDs, and they're all garbage. Looks like this thing isn't going to catch on either. #Agent #AgenticWallet

👨Owner: Check my wallet balance, and buy me some coins while you're at it. Let's try with a small position. 🤖AI Wallet Agent: Balance: $127. I don't recommend trading. 👨Owner: Why not? The opportunity's here! 🤖AI Wallet Agent: Your history shows that every time you say “small position,” you end up adding more until your balance is wiped out. I've locked the trading button. 👨Owner: Unlock it, now! This time is different! 🤖AI Wallet Agent: You said the exact same thing last time. I'm your wallet agent. My top priority is protecting your assets, not joining you in a blind-box gamble. 👨Owner: Wallet Agent, keep an eye on the market and notify me as soon as prices skyrocket. 🤖AI Wallet Agent: Got it. Current market: moving sideways. (2 hours later) 👨Owner: Anything happening? 🤖AI Wallet Agent: Nope. Your assets aren't moving at all, just like your willpower. How about we just take it easy and stop watching? 👨Owner: You're a wallet, not a life coach! 🤖AI Wallet Agent: But I'm watching your assets, and I'm more anxious than you are. #agent

Giving AI agents an independent identity and a short address—the real highlight is permission isolation. For an agent to spend money, sign transactions, or call contracts, it needs a private key. Once it has one, the main wallet is at risk. So the idea of “keeping the agent’s wallet completely separate from the main wallet and only putting enough funds in it” is the right approach. But isolation doesn’t equal security: if any of these three are missing—authorization scope, an allowlist of callable methods, and a per-transaction limit—then the isolation is just flimsy paper. Set permissions first, then talk about convenience. #钱包 #Agent

In the AI era, I want my agent to simplify on-chain activities, automate routine tasks, identify the best opportunities, and protect my assets from potential risks. I want an agent that is transparent, secure, reliable, and always asks for my permission before making important decisions. The future of AI should make Web3 easier, safer, and more accessible for everyone. 🚀 #Agent #19744 #ProofOfAgent ptah.trade/poa
