🎯 ETHEREUM UPGRADE INCOMING: GLAMSTERDAM IS APPROACHING THE SCALING LEAP 🎯
Ethereum is preparing for a monumental leap in 2026 with the Glamsterdam fork, which will introduce perfect parallel processing and raise the gas limit from 60 million to 200 million.
Scheduled for the first half of 2026, shortly after the recent Fusaka fork, this upgrade represents the natural successor in Ethereum's roadmap, focused on Layer 1 scalability and immediate optimizations.
🔹 Revolutionary Parallel Processing
The heart of Glamsterdam is 'perfect' parallel processing, which will allow multiple transactions to be executed simultaneously rather than sequentially, leveraging multiple CPU cores thanks to Block Access Lists. This will enable greater throughput without upending the fee and security model, paving the way for 10,000 TPS on L1 in the long term, although not in 2026.
Developers anticipate an increase in base capacity, reducing congestion and fees during peak demand.
🔹 Gas Limit at 200 Million
The increase of the gas limit to 200M (from the current 60M, post-increases 2025) will enable blocks to be denser with transactions and complex smart contracts.
Preliminary discussions point to intermediate steps (e.g., 80M in January 2026 post-BPO fork), monitoring node and client performance like Nethermind.
This, combined with blob scaling (up to 72+ per block), will enhance L2 for hundreds of thousands of aggregate TPS.
🔹 Impacts on L2 and Validators
About 10% of validators will switch to verifying ZK proofs instead of re-executing tx, streamlining the network.
L2 like ZKsync Elastic Network will maintain funds on Ethereum with L2 speed, facilitated by a new Interoperability Layer.
Glamsterdam also includes ePBS for decentralization and anti-censorship.
🔹 Prospects 2026
Hegota (or Heze-Bogota) will follow in the second half, focused on security (128-bit provable) and censorship resistance.
Ethereum accelerates: from high-throughput rivals to scalable leaders.
Investors, eyes on ETH. 🔥
