The biggest thing that happened on-chain last night on Robinhood: the founder Vlad had his account hijacked. Let’s talk about my thoughts.
First of all, this is a very low-probability event—no one expected the creator to have their account stolen and to have sent out a CA by changing the avatar. Whether it’s true or not, this incident will be recorded in the long history of Robinhood.
As for whether the #VLAD tokens themselves will have any further developments, it’s hard to say—it's not impossible. You can also see on-chain that some group that appears to be behind a plot bought in. And after all this time, the creator still hasn’t changed the avatar back. That’s quite strange.
My guess:
1. Take over and manage trading themselves, to calm the sentiments of retail investors who were harmed.
2. Freeze the dev’s fee revenue to avoid even greater sell pressure.
3. Continue investigating who the hacker is, and give the public an explanation.
This is too big an issue, and retail investors have been involved too much. People say that people shouldn’t be blamed too harshly—“don’t hold it against everyone.” But now too many retail investors are losing money, so Robinhood has no choice but to step in. So a soft landing is the most important.
I don’t know how high it can go, but it probably won’t drop to zero, right?
