ARNAQUE A LA CONVERSATION๐Ÿšจ I Lost 500 USDT to a Professional Crypto Scam โ€” Please Read Before Trading OTC I never thought I would become the victim of a scam like this. Iโ€™m sharing my story because if it saves even one person from losing their hard-earned money, then this post will have been worth it. A few days ago, I was contacted on Telegram by someone using the username @CNYWinto (Telegram number: +44 74 9290 3028). He introduced himself as a professional OTC trader looking for regular BTC โ†” USDT exchanges. His communication was calm, professional, and convincing. He even explained that he preferred to build trust gradually because of โ€œrestrictionsโ€ affecting crypto transactions. At first, nothing seemed suspicious. To earn my confidence, he sent me a Bitcoin transaction worth around $200. The trade went smoothly. Then he sent another transaction worth approximately $300. Again, everything appeared legitimate. At that point, I believed I had found a trustworthy trading partner. Then came the final trade. He claimed to have sent $500 worth of BTC. Everything looked normal from his side, so I sent him 500 USDT. A few moments later, I realized the truth. The Bitcoin transaction was fake. The BTC never arrived. Immediately after receiving my USDT, he blocked me on Telegram. The scam was over. I lost 500 USDT. What hurts the most isnโ€™t just the financial lossโ€”itโ€™s realizing how carefully this scam was planned. The first successful transactions were only there to build my trust before the final theft. This experience taught me a lesson I will never forget: Never trust someone simply because the first trades went well. Scammers are becoming smarter every day, and many of them are patient enough to spend hoursโ€”or even daysโ€”earning your confidence before striking. Strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and a bit of caution are fundamental to safeguarding your assets from modern fraud tactics. If an email from "Binance" does not include it in the top corner, itโ€™s a fraudulent impersonation. ๐Ÿ”’ * 5. ๐ŸšจI Got Trapped in a Telegram Crypto Scam (PINet Dex) โ€” My ExperienceRecently, I got trapped in a crypto scam called PINet Dex. At first, it didnโ€™t look like a scam at all. Everything looked organized โ€” active community, constant updates, and a system that looked like a real Pi ecosystem. But it wasnโ€™t. They had a launchpad project called Pidog. Minimum entry was 1 Pi, but the platform itself required a 10 Pi minimum deposit to participate. I had already applied for KYC before this, but it wasnโ€™t approved yet. So I sent 10 Pi, thinking it was just the requirement to access the launchpad. After I sent it: It showed pending deposit My KYC was still pending at that time I went to the community and complained Admins asked for my UID and transaction hash, which I provided The next day, my KYC suddenly got approved. But my deposit never reflected. And I never actually got access to the launchpad I thought I was joining. What made it worse was the community behavior. People were constantly: begging admins to approve deposits and withdrawals sharing UID and transaction hashes repeatedly waiting for everything to be manually approved That already felt off. Then came the final red flag. They added a โ€œclaim mined rewardsโ€ button. When clicked, it opened a page that looked like a Pi wallet and asked for your seed phrase. That was the moment I knew it was a full scam. No real crypto platform should ever ask for your seed phrase. Ever. After that, I stopped everything. My 10 Pi never came back, and I never got anything from the platform. Later, I saw the token launch and a massive pump, but by then: Telegram chats were locked or renamed admins became inactive the community started disappearing There were also claims of a Binance AMA, but I canโ€™t confirm that. What stands out most is how normal it looked at the beginning. Thatโ€™s what makes these scams dangerous. If someone had entered their seed phrase there, it wouldโ€™ve been instant loss. How to Protect Your Crypto Assets From Hackers and Scammers ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ With the crypto market growing rapidly, scammers and hackers are becoming smarter every day. Protecting your hard-earned funds should be your number one priority. Here are 3 golden rules to keep your crypto completely secure: 1. Never Share Your Seed Phrase: Your 12 or 24-word recovery phrase is the master key to your wallet. No legitimate support team, exchange, or admin will ever ask for your seed phrase. Keep it written offline on a piece of paper, never on your phone or email. 2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Relying only on a password is dangerous. Always enable 2FA on your exchange accounts using Google Authenticator or hardware keys. Avoid SMS-based 2FA, as hackers can use SIM-swapping to bypass it. 3. Beware of "Free Airdrop" Scams: If someone sends you a link promising free tokens or claiming you won a lottery, it is 99% a phishing scam. Clicking unknown links or connecting your wallet to shady websites can drain your entire balance in seconds. Remember: Not your keys, not your crypto. Stay alert and trade safely!
