ETH | Tokenized securities trending topic points to Solana | Around $2,493, don’t mistake RWA for buying pressure
My stance on ETH is neutral to cautious: tokenized securities are indeed expanding, but new projects don’t necessarily launch on Ethereum. The project behind the Binance Square trending topic #SecuritizeSharesRiseOver10%AfterTokenizedStocksLaunch stated clearly in its October 8 announcement that Securitize Stocks would launch first on Solana, settle in USDC, and be available to eligible investors through its registered broker-dealer platform. The initial list includes equity tokens for U.S. stocks such as Apple and Nvidia. The project says each token is backed one-to-one by an underlying stock and represents a securities interest; holding one does not automatically make the holder a registered shareholder of the issuing company. The planned integration with new venues from NYSE and OKX ICE remains subject to opening, regulatory, and operational conditions, so it shouldn’t be described as already offering full 24-hour trading.
The connection between this news and ETH isn’t a simple “Solana wins, Ethereum loses” vote. It’s a reminder for traders to break the RWA narrative into three questions: which chain the asset is issued on, which token is used for settlement, and who captures the fees generated by trading. This project’s launch chain and settlement currency are Solana and USDC, respectively, so the nominal market value of its underlying stocks shouldn’t be counted as demand for ETH. But Ethereum and its scaling networks already have other securities and fund use cases, so a single project can’t determine the sector’s long-term market share either. My independent view is that institutional adoption of multiple chains will become more common. ETH’s investment case needs to be validated by actual trading volume, settlement revenue, and sustained developer deployment—not by the slogan that “all assets will move to ETH.”
How has the market reacted so far? When I checked Kraken ETH/USD, ETH was around $2,493, with an opening price of $2,485, an intraday high of $2,497, and a low of $2,484; its rolling 24-hour high was $2,518. ETH is still moving back and forth around $2,500, with no sign that this cross-chain news from two days ago has changed the trend on its own. The trending topic refers to Securitize’s stock rising strongly—not ETH gaining more than 10%, and it doesn’t mean SOL is bound to rise now. In the short term, I’m watching whether ETH can reclaim and hold $2,497–$2,500, and whether it can stay above around $2,484. If ETH breaks below $2,484 and fails to rebound, my view that the market is seeing a modest recovery is invalidated. If future on-chain data shows significant growth in Ethereum-related RWA settlement and fees, I’ll revise my view upward rather than cling to a competitive narrative.
If I were trading myself, I wouldn’t enter right now; I’d only consider a small spot long after confirmation. I’d test the waters with no more than 2% of my total capital only if ETH holds above $2,500 and then successfully retests it. My first target would be $2,518, where I’d sell half; I’d hold the rest toward $2,550 and close out gradually. I’d set a stop-loss if the price falls back below $2,483 after entry. If it breaks below $2,483 first, I’d cancel the long trade and stay in cash rather than catch a falling knife. The loss budget for any single trade would be no more than 0.3% of my account. I wouldn’t use high leverage, and I wouldn’t treat this project news as a direct trading signal.
