Midnight is also addressing the “privacy trilemma”. This is the challenge of supporting privacy, programmable smart contracts, and regulatory compliance all at once. Many blockchains can manage only one or two of these goals at a time. How Can Midnight Be Used?

The NIGHT Token
NIGHT is the native token of the Midnight network. Unlike privacy coins, which aim to hide transaction details, NIGHT is unshielded, meaning it’s transparent and publicly visible. Its main functions are utility and governance, so users can participate in network decisions and support the system’s long-term development by holding the token.
DUST, the shielded resource or “fuel” that powers transactions on Midnight, also aims to solve the conflict between privacy and transparency. When the fuel powering a blockchain is unshielded, transaction details and users’ identities can be exposed. However, when it’s shielded, the blockchain’s tokens could face listing challenges due to regulatory issues. Midnight addresses this problem by making DUST non-transferable.
This model helps resolve some regulatory concerns and makes transaction fees more predictable to users. NIGHT acts as a fixed-supply asset (with a total of 24 billion tokens), while DUST is a renewable resource generated by holding NIGHT.
Midnight (NIGHT) On Binance HODLer Airdrops
On March 11, 2026, Binance announced NIGHT as the 61st project on the Binance HODLer Airdrops. Users who subscribed their BNB to Simple Earn and/or On-Chain Yields products from February 16 to 18 were eligible to receive NIGHT airdrops. A total of 240 million NIGHT tokens were allocated to the program, accounting for 1% of the total token supply.
NIGHT was listed with the Seed Tag applied, allowing for trading against the USDT, USDC, BNB, and TRY pairs.
