The bull case: SIMD-0437 cuts lamports_per_byte — the constant behind Solana's refundable storage bond — from 6,960 to 696, a 90% cut in the cost of putting data on chain. SIMD-0525 takes slot times from 400ms to 200ms across five stages, and testnet is already two stages in at 300ms. Cheaper storage plus faster finality is what decides where developers build the heavy stuff. ETF flows are noticing: $8.8M in daily net inflows, the strongest since May 12.

The bear case: the same upgrade that makes Solana cheaper to use makes it harder to run. Shorter slots and larger transactions raise the hardware and bandwidth floor for validators, pushing the set toward operators who can afford better machines.
