Stocks Plunged on the Last Trading Day! WHAT’S THE REASON?
Oil prices rose: Uncertainty surrounding U.S. Iran peace talks pushed oil prices higher. This, in turn, heightened concerns about a resurgence in inflation.
U.S. Treasury yields rose: The 10-year Treasury yield climbed to around 5.2%. High interest rates are putting pressure on technology and AI companies with particularly high valuations.
As a result, semiconductor stocks like $MU , AMD, $INTC , and $SNDK saw steeper declines, while major tech companies such as Meta and Tesla were also affected by the sell-off. Overall, the market movement can be attributed to investors pulling back from risky and highly valued tech stocks in the short term.
Currently, there is another rally in pre-market trading; the percentage you see below the previous percentage drop reflects this.
However, given that these stocks have been rising for a long time, such percentage declines could continue and their impact may continue to intensify
