A fake Keystone hardware wallet could now pass the official authenticity check. That’s the most concerning part of this incident—and far more serious than a simple address leak. I’ve broken down what happened and what you can do into three sections. 【1. What happened】 On October 26, Keystone announced that on October 20, an attacker exploited a vulnerability in a third-party data-monitoring tool on its official website to gain elevated privileges. The attacker obtained the factory verification key embedded in the devices, as well as 25,964 buyer records from the website covering 2024 to 2026, including names, contact details, shipping addresses, and orders. Because the key is permanently embedded at the factory and cannot be changed, Keystone has decided to destroy 18,835 devices in stock and pause unshipped orders from its website. New devices will use a new key. 【2. Are your coins still safe?】 According to Keystone, the key is used only to verify authenticity and has nothing to do with seed phrases, private keys, or transaction signing. Users do not need to move their assets because of this incident. So far, the company has not reported finding any counterfeit devices or cases of theft. There are two real risks: someone could sell you a fake device as genuine, and the list of buyers with their home addresses could fall into the wrong hands. Be especially alert for “recall” scams from people impersonating customer support. 【3. What you can do now】 First, if you received your device before October 20 and it passed verification, keep using it as usual. If you received it after October 20, don’t store crypto on it yet; contact official customer support to confirm. Second, buy only from official or trusted channels. Don’t touch a “brand-new” device from an unknown source, no matter how cheap it is. Third, treat any call, text, or email about a recall, replacement, asset migration, or wallet verification as a scam. Keystone says it will not ask anyone to return their device. Fourth, never enter your seed phrase into a device you didn’t order yourself. My takeaway is that hardware wallets are supposed to let you “trust no one,” but this incident reminds us that the first layer of trust is still placed in the manufacturer. Putting $BTC in a cold wallet is fine; the problem was never the cold wallet itself. The source you buy your device from is not something to cut corners on. Did you buy your cold wallet from the official website, an e-commerce platform, or from a friend? Have you received any suspicious messages from “customer support” lately? Oh my God, the extortionists claim to have 15.42 million accounts and are asking for just $15 million. That works out to less than $1 per account. The target of the extortion is the crypto casino Gamdom. The extortion group WhiteArmor claims to have obtained Gamdom’s complete user database: around 15.42 million accounts, with 146 data fields. The ransom is $15 million, payable in $BTC. That’s a huge sum for the platform. For the players, it works out to less than $1 each. Even more unsettling is their own account of how they got in: “An internal machine account with administrator privileges.” If that’s true, the breach came through an internal account that already had administrator privileges—in other words, they got the keys to the system.

My goodness. The PEPE that Sun Yuchen was holding was worth only about $267,000 before this wave of buying, and now it’s worth about $51 million. His position has expanded by about 190x. During the week when BTC briefly fell below 80,000 before the interest-rate decision and everyone was looking for somewhere to hide, why did he choose to go heavy on a meme coin? Perhaps Sun Ge is now already the largest individual PEPE holder, and this wasn’t because the coin went up 190x—it was because he personally spent real money to buy in a huge amount all at once. My personal view: when a whale buys a meme coin, what they’re often buying isn’t just the coin, but also influence. With such a massive position sitting on-chain and being watched by everyone, he himself has become the biggest variable for PEPE going forward. Copying the trade isn’t impossible, but you need to think carefully: you’re following someone whose cost basis is lower than yours, who can exit more calmly than you, and who can affect the market at any time. Would you get on the PEPE train with Sun Ge, or wait for him to sell first? See the image for today’s other key points #PEPE #孙宇晨 #币圈晚报 $PEPE

If you don’t update it, you won’t get paid Did anyone else just receive an email from X? If you don’t update your W-8 or W-9 tax form, you won’t receive your share of X’s revenue next month. I kept running into problems when I tried to update mine just now and couldn’t submit it successfully. Then I found out the most important thing is… When signing at the end, put your “last name” last, not first! Foreigners put their last names at the end, unlike Chinese people.

You leave your trading bot running and go to sleep. When you wake up, it’s still placing trades—but the person placing them is no longer you.Japanese IT giant GMO Internet offers a cloud server service called “お名前.com デスクトップクラウド.” Many people rent its Windows servers to keep MT4 and MT5 running around the clock for automated forex trading. On October 19, a customer reported an issue. On October 20, GMO found malware planted by a third party on some servers. At 4 a.m. on October 21, servers across all plans began shutting down one by one. As many as 26,739 servers may have been affected. But the shutdown came too late: users’ brokerage login details were stored on those servers. Once hackers got hold of them, they logged into other people’s accounts and placed trades at will.

I just recovered over 100 U in a few minutes! This tool lets you reclaim, with one click, balances that often get overlooked in transactions. I just recovered some funds I’d previously used to trade dog-themed coins, and it even claimed tokens for me from the official Flap website. Across several addresses, I got over 100 U 😬😬😬 This tool currently only supports BNB Chain. Support for SOL, ETH, and a few other chains commonly used for airdrop farming will be added later. Good luck treasure hunting, everyone! nightshift.fans/claim/

What Ripple obtained wasn’t a trading license, but a federally regulated trust bank. 【1. What it can do】 According to Cointelegraph, Ripple National Trust Bank received final approval from the U.S. OCC. It can manage RLUSD reserves, act as collateral trustee for RLUSD holders, and provide digital asset custody. RLUSD is still issued by New York-regulated Standard Custody. 【2. What it can’t do】 According to the OCC, most national trust banks don’t accept deposits, make loans, or have FDIC insurance. 【3. Who’s already in】 Circle received final approval in July, while several other crypto firms have received conditional approval. My personal take: Canada is also setting new stablecoin rules, and the compliance bar will only keep rising; $XRP may not react right away in the short term. This is the first time the BNB ecosystem has appeared on the grandest stage of traditional financial markets as a publicly listed company. Saylor didn’t buy any this week, while Strive scooped up 6,182 BTC in one week at an average price of about $82,732 per coin. Their average cost is $87,785, so they’re still sitting on an unrealized loss. They also plan to issue up to $1 billion in preferred stock with a 15% annual yield to keep buying. In plain terms: one party has stopped, while the other is adding more at a 15% cost. Are you backing Saylor or Strive? See the image for today’s other highlights #BTC #crypto daily news

Actually, I finished building this tool yesterday afternoon. The difference between me and Little God of Wealth is that he does manual trading, while I built an AI that buys and sells automatically. So why haven’t I released it yet? Because I’ve been letting the AI optimize itself, refine its strategies, and improve its logic. But after running it for a day or two, I found it was still losing quite a lot of money. It lost less than it did on the first day, but it was still losing. 😂 My conclusion is that automated trading is no help at all with meme coins. It might be more practical for major coins, because the biggest risks with meme coins come from the developer’s ideas and human nature—both of which are uncontrollable. No matter how sophisticated your automated trading bot is, it can’t solve the problem. It can reduce risk and limit losses, but you’ll still end up losing money. I’m also working on some other tools. I’ll launch a new one tonight, and it has nothing to do with trading. #AIPRO #币安AIPro #ai

I thought $80,000 would hold, but the market proved me wrong at 07:27 this morning. 【1. Who got it right early】 An address that has made a cumulative profit of about $22.56 million from futures opened a short position of 125 $BTC at around $80,374 at 05:44 this morning (about $10.05 million), then closed a long position of about $19.3 million at 07:30: $ZEC . 【2. Even the big players are stepping back】 After selling his coins, Arthur Hayes received a cumulative total of about 49.24 million USDC. He said he had closed his directional positions in ETH, ENA, and UNI and would wait and see. 【3. Two levels to watch today】 According to Coinglass, if BTC breaks above $84,240, the liquidation intensity for short positions on major CEXs is about $787 million; if it falls below $76,764, about $770 million in long positions could be liquidated. My take: large players are stepping back, so the risk-reward isn't great for adding leverage to buy the dip right now. BNB Chain has announced a new L1 (New L1). This isn’t an upgrade to BSC, but a new high-performance EVM chain built specifically for ultra-low latency. Key details: it will coexist with BSC and connect via a native cross-chain bridge; no new token will be issued, and BNB will continue to be used for gas, staking, and governance. • 200 ms block times, around 20 ms pre-confirmation, and sub-second finality • No public mempool, native account abstraction, and privacy pools. A multi-validator Devnet is already running; testnet is planned for the end of 2026, with mainnet targeted for early 2027. This signals a direct challenge to the likes of Hyperliquid in on-chain high-frequency trading and agent finance infrastructure. BSC will continue to serve the broader ecosystem, while the new chain focuses on pushing performance to its limits. This represents purely incremental demand for BNB. Once the testnet launches, early protocol and liquidity opportunities will be worth watching closely. @BNB_Chain @CZ

I looked up the numbers later: there are roughly 4.3 billion people worldwide between the ages of 20 and 60, and an estimated 1.2–1.5 billion of them earn more than $1,000 a month. Around 85–95% of this group use smartphones and various apps—they’re not completely unfamiliar with technology. But the reality is that many people open a wallet or exchange and immediately feel overwhelmed by all the features. It’s not that they can’t use the tools; it’s that the crypto world has turned “getting started” into an “advanced exam.” Seed phrases, cross-chain transactions, gas fees, one blockchain after another—many people see all that and get discouraged before they even begin. As I mentioned yesterday, I’ve brought a lot of friends into this space, but very few have lasted a month. Some give up outright; others hand over full control to someone else to manage their assets. If that person loses money, they’re held responsible. If even people with a decent income and the ability to use technology are being kept out, how can we break into the mainstream and attract more newcomers? To lower the barrier to entry, instead of constantly building more complicated tools, we should first make that “first transaction” easier.
What do you think are effective ways to help newcomers get started? Feel free to share in the comments.
