Researchers from the famous security company Ledger discovered a vulnerability in some Android chips that could give an attacker complete control over the device if they can physically access it. This isn't just an ordinary hack... it's called hardware fault injection and it can bypass basic security systems as if they were holding the chip in their hand.

Web3 wallets

And this is the real danger for anyone using Web3 wallets on mobile.

Why does this scare crypto users?

Because the mobile has everything on it:

  1. Wallets

  2. Private keys

  3. Transaction signatures

So if someone manages to control the chip itself, your wallets on Android could be hacked even without the internet.

This danger is not directed at just one currency… but it affects people who store assets like $BTC or deal with currencies like $ETH and also meme coins like $PEPE .

Important news to ease a bit

Ledger has confirmed that its cold wallets (Hardware Wallets) are not affected by this vulnerability.

But this clarifies the big truth:

Hot wallets on mobile alone are not enough for complete protection.

What should you do from now on?

  • If you have large amounts, seriously consider a cold wallet

  • Don't keep all your money on your mobile

  • Lock the mobile with a fingerprint + strong password

  • Never leave your device within reach of a stranger

The convenience on mobile is nice… but hardware security is stronger.

Let's always stay one step ahead of the hackers, not running after them.

A tip from me to you:

Keep a mobile wallet for small transactions, and a cold wallet for the real treasure… and live comfortably 🔐💰
