Every cycle starts the same way: as soon as the market experiences a major correction and stops falling straight down, the mantra about "the alt season is just around the corner" comes alive again. People remember the years 2020–2021, when after a prolonged gloom, altcoins really delivered dozens of x’s: first, the big names from the top 20 came back, then mid-cap coins joined in, and by the end, even the most exotic tokens were flying high. On the charts, it looked like a miracle: $BTC is in a fairly narrow range, while altcoins are popping out of obscurity one after another and setting new highs, as if there was no crypto winter at all.

But it is important to understand the context that is currently lacking. Back then, the alt season was born not only from the 'belief of the community,' but from a very specific set of conditions: ultra-loose macro policy, a sharp influx of liquidity, greed on both sides — for stablecoins and for derivatives. Bitcoin first worked through its cycle phase, consolidating at new levels, and only then did the market start looking for the 'next layer of yield' in altcoins. Today, rumors and memes are heating up in advance: some participants are simply tired of waiting and want a repeat of the 2021 scenario 'on schedule,' even though fundamentally the market is still digesting the previous rise, tightening conditions, and unwinding the overheated leverage.

Hence the funny dissonance: by the sentiments on social media, it seems that the alt season is already quite near, while the actual dynamics show that most altcoins remain either in a sideways trend or in a prolonged correction. This does not mean that there will not be a big movement — historically strong phases of the alt season come just when people have almost stopped believing in them. But relying solely on 'noise on Twitter' is the worst strategy. It is much more reasonable to see if Bitcoin has consolidated in a stable trend, whether there is real liquidity inflow, and whether there are live volumes in specific sectors. In such an approach, the alt season is not a magical moment, but a logical continuation of the cycle that one should prepare for structurally, not just with memes about 'we are about to take off.'
