What is momentum?
How do we read it from price + volume?
And how do we distinguish between a real breakout and a false breakout?
Now we connect everything in a simple practical plan you can use as a template in your trading 👇
✅ Strategy Steps (Uptrend)
1️⃣ Identify the overall direction
On the 1H or 4H timeframe:
Higher highs and higher lows
Price above moving averages (like EMA 20 and EMA 50)
2️⃣ Identify an important resistance area
Previous peak touched by price multiple times
Draw a horizontal line at it
3️⃣ Watch for potential breakout
Price is approaching resistance
The candles start to grow
Volume is increasing → Beginning of upward momentum
4️⃣ Do not enter on the first breakout
Wait: Close a strong candle above resistance with high trading volume
5️⃣ Wait for a retest
Price returns to touch the same broken resistance level turns into new support
A bullish reversal candle appears + acceptable volume
6️⃣ Here is the ideal entry point
Enter after the confirmation candle
Stop loss below the new support (below the retest)
Target: Fibonacci extension levels or higher resistance.
📌 Brief practical example
Uptrend on 1H
Resistance at 1.00$
Price breaks and closes above it at 1.03$ with strong volume
Returns to correct to 1.00–1.01$
A bullish hammer candle appears + reasonable volume
🔹 Entry: 1.02$
🔹 Stop Loss: 0.98$
🔹 Targets:
TP1: 1.08$
TP2: 1.12$
Entered with momentum, after a real breakout, and from a correction area… not from a surge peak.
🎯 Summary of the series
Momentum tells you: Is the movement strong or not?
Volume tells you: Are there really big players or just superficial movement?
False breakout reminds you: Do not enter just because the price touched a line on the chart.
Combine all three together…
Your decisions become calmer, and your trades are fewer…
But their quality is much higher ✅
