$BTC The Accidental Millionaire and the Forgotten $27 🔥
In 2009, a Norwegian student named Kristoffer Koch was writing a thesis on data encryption. To illustrate his work, he decided to buy a newly launched digital currency that few people had heard of: Bitcoin. He spent just $26.60 and saved the keys in a file on his computer.
Koch completely forgot about it and got on with his life. Four years later, in 2013, he saw Bitcoin starting to appear in the news and remembered his old investment. After managing to crack his password, he discovered that his $27 had turned into more than $850,000, allowing him to buy a luxurious apartment in one of Oslo’s most expensive neighborhoods at the time. This story popularized the concept of HODL (holding cryptocurrencies long-term) without the stress of daily trading.
