🩸 SHORTS LIQUIDATED. LONGS LIQUIDATED. WHAT NOW?
Shorts were liquidated yesterday. Today, longs. If you don’t understand what happened to
$BTC , you’re not the only one. Here’s what happened, what’s next, and what I’m doing.
⠀
📊 1️⃣ What happened
• Yesterday:
$BTC broke out of the range and touched $84,898. Shorts were liquidated.
• Hours later: it fell back to $81,890 (-3.5%). Now the longs who bought the breakout are being liquidated.
A round trip in less than 24 hours: leverage paid the price in both directions.
⠀
2️⃣ Why
• Oil rose amid reports of plans to attack Iran (Coinspeaker).
• Asian stocks fell, and China entered a bear market (CoinDesk).
It wasn’t crypto: it was an external shock.
⠀
3️⃣ What panic won’t let you see
• Spot ETFs added more than $1,000M over 3 sessions, +$528M yesterday (Cointelegraph).
• Yesterday, 8 funds saw inflows (The Block). On Monday, it was just 1 out of 12.
• IBIT had its largest daily inflow since January (Finbold).
While retail investors were getting liquidated, institutional money was buying.
⠀
⚠️ 4️⃣ What’s next
• Friday the 23rd: U.S. inflation data. If it comes in hot, $80K will be put to the test.
• Oct. 28: Fed decision.
• Iran and oil: the risk that doesn’t show up on the charts.
⠀
🔹 5️⃣ What I’m doing
• Nothing with leverage. This week showed why.
• I don’t chase candles: I neither bought the breakout nor am I selling the drop.
• My levels: $80K as the range floor. Reclaiming $83.2K would reactivate the breakout. The daily 200 EMA (~$76K) is my long-term reference.
• I’m sticking with my DCA. The plan is made before the candle, not during it.
⠀
Summary: price moved on fear. Flows didn’t.
⠀
How did this week treat you?
