Crypto VC Funding Rebounds to $5.6B in Q2 2026
Crypto venture activity picked up again in the second quarter, but the recovery was heavily concentrated in larger, later-stage deals.
Galaxy Research says VCs invested $5.683 billion across 384 crypto and blockchain deals in Q2 2026, with capital deployed rising 31% quarter-over-quarter and deal count increasing 10%. Later-stage companies captured roughly 78% of invested capital.
The biggest destination was trading, exchanges, investing and lending, which attracted about $3.52 billion. U.S.-headquartered companies also dominated, receiving 73.5% of total capital.
The headline rebound is encouraging, but it does not mean funding conditions are strong everywhere. Capital grew much faster than deal count, suggesting a relatively small number of larger financings played an outsized role. At the same time, only five new crypto-focused venture funds raised about $3.9 billion, leaving new fund formation near its weakest level since late 2019.
That creates an important split to watch: established companies are attracting bigger checks, while fresh fund creation and early-stage risk appetite remain more restrained.
