There are 3 days left in the
$AXIS trading competition, and I’ve actually started paying attention to it.
The second AXIS trading competition ends on November 9. Each of the top 2,000 participants will receive 193
$AXIS .
A lot of people are focused on the rewards, but I’m more interested in how this competition might affect the price.
These events have a rather interesting mechanism: only buying volume counts, not selling volume.
What does that mean?
To climb the rankings, traders will keep generating buy trades. But after buying, they can sell and then buy again.
So the trading volume can look impressive, even if net buying pressure isn’t all that strong.
What I’m really interested in is how capital shifts before and after the competition ends.
The early-bird multiplier is gradually declining, so the marginal incentive to climb the rankings is weakening.
There are two possibilities from here:
First, the price weakens ahead of the competition’s end.
That would mean the market has already started pricing in the decline in buying activity after the event. In that case, I’d actually look for a potential rebound after an oversold dip.
Second, trading volume drops noticeably after the competition ends, but the price simply refuses to fall.
That would be interesting.
If the token holds steady even after incentive-driven traders leave, it could mean there’s genuine demand in the market that doesn’t depend on the event.
I’m more inclined toward the second opportunity.
A surge in volume during the event isn’t unusual. What really matters is whether the price holds up after it ends.
My observation window is November 9 to November 11.
If we see volume contract and the price stabilize, followed by a fresh breakout on rising volume, I’ll add AXIS to my watchlist of priority trades.
I don’t like chasing coins like this when the hype is at its peak. I’d rather wait for event-driven capital to ebb and see who’s still willing to stick around.
Rewards drive short-term trading volume; the capital that stays is what determines the next leg of the market.
