🚀 Fed Chair Warsh’s major speech in Bangkok is coming up! The final policy signal before the October rate-setting meeting
📌 Key points at a glance: * Venue: Bangkok, Thailand (the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings)
* Key time: 10:30 a.m. Bangkok time on October 16 (the evening of October 15 U.S. Eastern Time—the final public appearance before the “blackout period” ahead of the FOMC rate-setting meeting)
* Format: A fireside chat with IMF Managing Director Georgieva
💡 Four key areas of focus for this speech:
* Inflation resilience and the rate path
* The latest September CPI/PPI readings came in higher than expected, with energy and housing prices continuing to add to inflationary pressures.
* Markets are focused on whether Warsh will signal a hawkish stance at the October 27–28 FOMC meeting, such as raising rates again or keeping rates restrictively high.
* Sticking to “doing away with forward guidance”
* Warsh is expected to reiterate his “say less, do more, data-dependent” policy style, avoid making excessive predictions about the future path, and emphasize that monetary policy will be adjusted dynamically based on actual economic indicators.
* Quantitative tightening (QT) and financial conditions
* Discussion of the size of the Fed’s balance sheet and the neutral interest rate, with an emphasis on reducing excessive liquidity intervention and guiding markets back toward pricing based on fundamentals.
* Global economic risks and independence
* He is expected to comment on how geopolitical shocks (such as oil price fluctuations) affect both supply and demand, while emphasizing the Fed’s commitment to maintaining its monetary policy independence.
📉 What impact could this have on the crypto market (BTC / Crypto)?
* Increased short-term volatility: If Warsh takes a hawkish tone (for example, emphasizing inflation risks and raising expectations of an October rate hike), it could put short-term pressure on the liquidity premium of BTC and other risk assets.
* Whale activity: On-chain data shows signs of whale addresses accumulating coins on dips ahead of the data release and speech, suggesting market participants are waiting for the uncertainty to clear.
* Key levels to watch: Market sentiment remains cautious, and the overall market structure hinges on how the Fed defines the peak for interest rates in the fourth quarter.

$BNB Visa’s China clearing business has been approved! In short, receiving foreign currencies, using foreign cards, and moving money across borders may soon be a lot less of a hassle. In the past, getting a foreign card meant jumping through hoops: lots of documents, proof of address, and a passport were required, along with high management and transaction fees. Now that the channels are open, there’s no need to search all over the world for a way to get a card. It’ll be easier for people earning US dollars, and the stock market may get a bit more liquidity, too. Pay the taxes you owe, earn your dollars—making money compliantly is the best way.

The ETF Era Has Made the Old Crypto Trading Playbook Obsolete
I don’t know if you’ve felt this way, but when you look at the crypto market now, it seems like the old playbook suddenly doesn’t work anymore. A few years ago, trading crypto was pretty straightforward. When the market surged on rising volume, the pattern was BTC sucking up liquidity → ETH catching up → high-value or trending coins quickly following suit → altcoins joining the party. You could pick any popular coin, hold it for a while, and probably make a decent gain. When the market fell, funds fled across the board, and Bitcoin and smaller coins plunged together. The whole market moved up or down in unison, making the trend easy to read. But since the dawn of the ETF era, many veteran traders have been lamenting that the old playbook no longer works. The broader market looks range-bound, and Bitcoin isn’t very volatile, yet altcoins are getting absolutely crushed. Sometimes BTC edges up a little, while most smaller coins don’t budge. Many people enter the market using trading strategies from a few years ago, repeatedly buying and selling, only to find that they’re not making money even when the index is up—or that their accounts have already taken a big hit even though the broader market has barely fallen.
Took a look at the market. Looks like I’m eating grass today. Can’t eat with my hands—we’re civilized people, so we have to take it slowly with a fork.
On October 13, according to HTX market data, as Bitcoin pulled back and fell below $82,000, altcoins saw sharp declines, including:
BOME fell 30.04% in 24 hours, currently at $0.000768; BLUR fell 29.48% in 24 hours, currently at $0.01349; STRK fell 28.35% in 24 hours, currently at $0.08599; CKB fell 22.50% in 24 hours, currently at $0.0014796; PONS fell 20.35% in 24 hours, currently at $0.281; USELESS fell 16.82% in 24 hours, currently at $0.16969; ENA fell 15.55% in 24 hours, currently at $0.204; NEAR fell 13.44% in 24 hours, currently at $5.039.
If USELESS drops another 20%, I’m buying in. That’s the thing with memes—they’re useless.
Tesla Sets Date for Second-Generation Roadster Event On October 14, Tesla announced on X that its Roadster event will be livestreamed at 7:55 p.m. Central Time on the 15th (8:55 a.m. Beijing time on the 16th). The event was originally scheduled for October 1 in Waco, Texas, but was postponed due to weather. Tesla first unveiled the second-generation Roadster concept at a launch event in 2017. It was originally positioned as Tesla’s first supercar developed entirely from the ground up. One of the car’s potential highlights, according to earlier reports, could be a thruster system that Musk has discussed publicly: cold-gas thrusters based on SpaceX technology installed in the car. The vehicle may feature around 10 thrusters in the area usually occupied by the rear seats, using changes in airflow and weight distribution to improve acceleration and cornering. It is worth noting that Tesla has not confirmed that the thruster system will make it into production. Over the past year, Musk has discussed the idea publicly several times, but has not announced technical specifications, pricing, or a delivery timeline for models equipped with the feature.
