BREAKING:

The wave of corporate distress in the U.S. is accelerating. So far this year, 717 major companies have entered bankruptcy — the highest year-to-date count in more than 15 years, and already exceeding the entire annual totals seen in every year since 2010.

This marks the third year in a row of rising bankruptcies, pushing the tally 93% higher than 2022.

The pressure isn’t slowing either: November saw 62 large filings, after 68 in October and 66 in September.

Overall, 2024 corporate bankruptcies are tracking 30% above the 2011–2024 average, signaling widespread financial strain across sectors not buoyed by AI-driven growth.
