Kwon, now 34, became the face of the 2022 crypto meltdown when UST and LUNA imploded, vaporizing over **$40B** and sending shockwaves through the industry. The chaos helped topple giants like FTX and Celsius. And yet — the market reacted with ferocity. LUNA surged 35%, LUNC soared 80% in a single day, as traders piled into the speculation surrounding Kwon’s fate. Prosecutors shrugged off comparisons to Celsius founder Alex Mashinsky, who got 12 years for far smaller damage. By contrast, Terra’s collapse was catastrophic.
