Iranian President Masoud Madaniyan opened the conversation with a poem by Allam Iqbal and said that Pakistan and Iran are not just neighboring countries but two brotherly and friendly nations.
He added that both countries have common future and common interests, and their relationship has always been based on mutual respect, benevolence and trust.
The Iranian president also praised the peace efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who thanked the leadership of Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other friendly countries for their support in the peace process.
Masoud Madaniyan clarified that Iran's ballistic missile program was part of the memorandum of understanding and would not be made a part of any negotiation process in future.
He said that Iran will not negotiate with any country on its defense capabilities because matters related to national defence and security are fundamental rights of the Iranian people and state. The Iranian president said that if Iran did not have missiles to defend itself, Israel and the United States would also treat Iran as it was treated in Gaza.

He rejected the human rights claims, saying it was a big lie and that if Iran had not been capable of defending itself, hostile elements would have left no stone unturned to erode the country's power.
President Madian said Iran strongly believes that lasting peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through honest negotiations, mutual respect and regional cooperation.He said solutions to the problems of the region lie not in external pressure but in promoting direct dialogue, cooperation and trust among regional countries. "Iran is a proponent of constructive negotiations to promote relations with neighboring countries and protect common interests", Masoud Madyan said.
