Major altcoins bled double digits for a full week — while Bitcoin fell just 2.7%. This isn’t a broad-based correction; it’s a rotation out of risk.
Key figures (Nov 8, 2026):
• NEAR −15.2% for the week → ~$3.71; BCH −12.8% → ~$246; HYPE −12% → ~$77.35; XLM −10.6% → ~$0.151 (crypto.news & CryptoPotato, Nov 8)
• ENA −18%, PUMP −14%, and ONDO −12% for the week too (CryptoPotato, Nov 8)
• For comparison: BTC −2.7% for the week, ETH/BNB −1–3%; XRP, SOL, DOGE, LINK, and ADA fell by up to 8.5%
• Total market cap ~$2.55 trillion, down ~$100 billion for the week; TRX and ZEC were actually in the green
My take: the market is punishing risk, not abandoning crypto. Money isn’t fleeing BTC — it’s down just 2.7% and is still holding around ~$75,900 — but the altcoins that were market favorites two weeks ago are being sold off first. Keep the context in mind: this is a one-week snapshot, not a verdict. ZEC and TRX being in the green shows that selling is selective, not blind panic.
What I’m watching: Monday’s weekly close at 07:00 WIB versus the 50-day MA at $75,556, then U.S. CPI on Tuesday, Nov 10 at 20:30 WIB — those two will determine whether altcoins get some breathing room or come under even more pressure.
What do you think: is this just a routine post-crash rotation, or the beginning of altcoins being increasingly abandoned?
