A security incident briefly affected Polymarket after one of its third-party service providers was compromised, allowing attackers to inject a malicious script into the platform's frontend for some users.

In a statement shared on X, Polymarket said it quickly identified the issue, contained the attack, and removed the compromised dependency to prevent further exposure.

The company also confirmed that users who were impacted will be contacted directly and fully reimbursed for any losses. However, it has not disclosed how many users were affected or the total amount of cryptocurrency stolen.

Meanwhile, blockchain security firm PeckShield reported that the attack was part of a phishing campaign that resulted in the theft of approximately $3 million worth of pUSD, Polymarket's USDC-backed trading token.
