European central banks are openly opposed to the MiCA rule imposing 60% stable reserves in bank deposits: according to them, this would expose banks to stablecoin volatility and weaken traditional deposits. Meanwhile, BNB has just surpassed the market capitalization of BNY Mellon with $104.95 billion. The paradox is delicious: traditional finance is being caught up by the crypto it is trying to regulate at all costs. Bitcoin consolidates at 86 581 $ (+0,83%) and Ethereum at 2 751 $ (+0,44%) while Brussels is still looking for how to regulate an industry that isn’t waiting for it. The real question: can Europe regulate what it doesn’t understand? #MiCA #Stablecoins

Tether goes all the way, and the ECB backs down first. It refuses to apply for MiCA because 60% of reserves must be kept in banks; now the ECB proposes to scrap that rule, and the reason is still the risk to bank stability. Did the rules get drafted on the spur of the moment? Keeping stablecoin reserves in banks turns all the books into bad debts the moment a liquidity crisis hits. The market wasn’t wrong—regulators finally wake up. $USDT #MiCA

#Tether #MiCA Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said that, because MiCA requires major stablecoin issuers to keep at least 60% of reserves in commercial bank deposits, the company declined to apply for an EU license. The European Central Bank and others have proposed removing this reserve requirement and replacing it with a liquidity requirement based on short-term maturing assets, but this change has not yet been approved. This rule ties the issuers’ balance sheets to those of the banking system; the affected parties are issuers that want to operate in the EU in a compliant manner. Assessment: as long as the 60% deposit requirement remains, Tether’s position will not change. $TAO $ONDO $KITE

The ECB recommends scrapping the MiCA requirement of a 60% bank reserve for deposits and instead pushing short-term liquid assets. On the stablecoin reserves issue, the hawks are quite aggressive: banks backing deposits are swapped for short-dated Treasuries, and the ability to withstand bank runs looks stronger—but who will take over the risks of liquidity segmentation and discounting? If this actually comes to pass, the reserve structures of USDC and USDT will have to be reshuffled again, and compliance costs for the European region will keep rising. Don’t rush to pick sides on the pros and cons yet—wait to see how the detailed rules are written. $USDC $USDT #MiCA #stablecoin

Kraken co-CEO David Ripley said that U.S. crypto regulation is “adversarial,” and that it’s not as pragmatic as Europe. Europe is moving from following the U.S. to leading the way, and it has drawn a comparison between MiCA and the CLARITY bill that the U.S. just saw collapse, praising MiCA for setting clear rules for the industry. Kraken itself obtained an MiCA license from the Central Bank of Ireland starting in June 2025, covering all 30 EU countries. Coming from the mouth of a trading-exchange CEO who has already benefited from Europe’s regulatory regime, the statement sounds more like an advertisement for its own regulatory environment. The report also doesn’t provide specific token, enforcement, or fund-flow data. For ordinary users, this information is more suitable as an observation of industry policy, not as a basis for taking action in any given direction. #欧洲央行启动区块链欧元结算 #南非拟将加密纳入外汇管制 #Clarity #MiCA

Stumbled upon Odaily: In the EU Commission’s review document item 66 for MiCA, there was a question—does the current EU staking regulation go far enough? If not, the relevant companies may be given new requirements. The analysis is quite straightforward: if the rules are too strict, staking returns could be reduced, which in turn could also impact network security. MiCA has only just rolled out, and now another review is underway; in the staking space, it’s moved one step from “indirect oversight” toward “whether to regulate it specifically.” #加密监管 #MiCA

Traditional finance is diving headfirst into digital assets under Europe's new regulatory framework. With traditional banks now making up nearly a quarter of the EU's official crypto provider register, the institutionalization of the market is accelerating rapidly. Clear rules are no longer just protecting consumers; they are actively greenlighting banking giants to build out serious Web3 infrastructure. The line between TradFi and DeFi is blurring fast. #MiCA #CryptoRegulation #Banking

Binance is standing strong in Europe, brushing off recent ECB speculation regarding its Greek MiCA license bid. Instead of getting bogged down by rumors, the exchange is doubling down on regulatory compliance. This is a massive signal that major players are playing the long game with Europe's new crypto framework. Securing a foothold here isn't just about market access—it sets the blueprint for global compliance standards moving forward. $BNB #Binance #MiCA #CryptoRegulation

The EU MiCA license is quickly turning into a bank back garden. From the end of June to now, the number of licensed banks has doubled to 80, accounting for nearly 23% of crypto service providers. Retail investors are still chasing meme coins, while traditional banks have quietly taken over the compliance channels. Once the ETFs and custody are rolled out across the board, pricing power will sooner or later return to institutions, leaving on-chain natives with little more than working for the whitelist. #MiCA #BTC

The Wall Street Journal’s piece is quite explosive: it claims that ECB president Lagarde privately called Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis to urge him not to approve the Greek MiCA for Binance—at the time, Greek regulators apparently had already signaled to ESMA that they were ready to clear it. The concerns mentioned in the report are twofold: first, Binance’s compliance guilty plea in the U.S. in 2023; second, a worry that USD stablecoins would continue to grow in Europe, dragging on the digital euro. The ECB itself does not have the authority to issue MiCA licenses, and Greece’s securities regulator emphasized that it is an independent review. Binance responded to Cointelegraph, saying it “won’t comment on speculation,” and that it still plans to obtain a license in Europe in compliance with regulations. On June 24, it withdrew the Greek application and sought another EU member state. $BNB #MiCA # Regulatory

🔍 On the same day the Fed raised rates, Deutsche Bank set the timetable for cryptocurrency custody. September 16, Frankfurt. Deutsche Bank announced that it will provide digital-asset custody services for European institutional and corporate clients, with plans to go live by the end of the year after obtaining the required regulatory approvals. A spokesperson, Heinrich Frömsdorf, said the MiCA license is expected to be granted in October, with the approving authority being Germany’s BaFin. The initial supported assets are limited. Bitcoin and Ethereum, plus three stablecoins (USDC, EURC, and EURAU). Deutsche Bank will manage the wallets and private keys. With hardware-backed key protection, multi-party approvals, and cold–hot wallet separation, customers won’t have to build custody infrastructure themselves. Target customers include asset managers, hedge funds, custodian banks, brokerages, and sovereign institutions; tokenized financial instruments are slated for a later phase. Deutsche Bank is on the G-SIB list. German peers DZ Bank and LBBW are also moving in this direction, and their technical cooperation with Swiss firm Taurus was signed back in 2023. One detail worth noting: EURAU is a stablecoin issued by AllUnity, and DWS—Deutsche Bank’s asset-management subsidiary—is a shareholder in this joint venture. Their own coin goes into their own wallet system; this whole thread stays within the Deutsche Bank group. In the U.S., the picture is different. The CLARITY Act this week did not make it past a procedural vote in the Senate, and Wall Street is still waiting for legislation. The EU’s path is already clear: a licensed bank can begin operations after giving regulators 40 business days’ notice. European banks don’t wait on Congress. The market that day didn’t look good. The Fed raised rates by 25 basis points, lifting the interest-rate range to 3.75%–4%, the first time since 2023. The vote passed unanimously 12–0, and the dot plot suggested there may be one more hike within the year. The Dow fell 1.21%, or 631 points. The 10-year U.S. Treasury yield was 5.01%. Bitcoin dropped from 78,173 before the decision to 75,638, down 3.3% in a day, and is now trading sideways. ETH is at 2,390. My take: custody is a slow business. Pricing depends more on the license and the client roster than on coin prices. Watch two numbers: whether Deutsche Bank’s October MiCA license gets approved, and when the first batch of institutional clients will be announced. Even if markets were falling on the rate-hike day, this infrastructure keeps moving. $BTC $ETH #中本聪国际社区Baoluo币商资本 #Bitcoin #MiCA
