Almost a year after Polygon initiated its token upgrade, the transition from MATIC to POL has reached 99% completion. Since September 2024, every transaction on Polygon PoS has used POL as the native gas token. For users still holding MATIC on Ethereum, a 1:1 migration remains available through the Polygon Portal.
