$PUFFER Anchorage Digital will serve as Puffer UniFi's day-one institutional custodian, extending the agentic banking infrastructure it is building with Google Cloud onto an Ethereum-aligned settlement network.

Anchorage Digital, home to America's first federally regulated crypto bank, today announced a partnership with Puffer Finance, the Ethereum infrastructure company building Puffer UniFi, to bring regulated custody, stablecoin infrastructure, and payment settlement to the network from day one.

Under the partnership, Anchorage Digital will serve as Puffer UniFi's day-one institutional custodian. The two companies will also work together to support stablecoin issuance, native settlement, and institutional payment infrastructure on Puffer UniFi, Puffer's Ethereum-aligned execution and settlement network.

For institutions, the partnership means they can hold assets, move stablecoins, and settle transactions on Puffer UniFi through Anchorage Digital's integrated regulated platform, while the network's synchronous composability keeps them connected to Ethereum's liquidity and security.

Puffer Finance announced a strategic infrastructure partnership with Google Cloud, positioning the tech giant as a registered gateway operator in the Puffer Preconf system that powers Puffer UniFi. Announced on September 22, 2026, the collaboration integrates Google Cloud’s enterprise-grade infrastructure directly into the UniFi execution path—the high-performance, ethereum-based rollup by Puffer. Google Cloud will process transactions and issue execution pre-confirmations before final settlement on ethereum, targeting latencies as low as 50 milliseconds, while preserving the security and settlement guarantees of the base layer.

This is the first time a major cloud provider acts as a gateway in a base rollup pre-confirmation architecture, combining the reliability of Web2 with crypto-economic execution. The move addresses a longstanding tension in Ethereum scalability: the need for near-instant feedback for users without sacrificing decentralization or introducing the risk of a centralized sequencer. By integrating Google Cloud as Puffer’s pre-confirmation gateway, Puffer UniFi achieves production execution pre-confirmations, under 50 ms, guaranteed by ETH restaked—establishing a practical model for real-time Ethereum applications in DeFi, institutional finance, and autonomous AI agent systems.
