Think of it as bringing AI computation to Web3 without the centralization headaches we see with traditional AI providers. The idea is simple but powerful: open-source, permissionless, and community-governed AI.
What caught my attention:
1. Real utility, not hype. Most AI crypto projects are all talk. OpenGradient actually has a working testnet with functional AI inference. You can run models directly on-chain – no middleman, no censorship.
2. Strong fundamentals. The team has been building for years, not just throwing together a whitepaper for a quick pump. Their tech stack is legit – custom consensus mechanism optimized for AI workloads.
3. Timing. With the broader AI narrative heating up, projects with actual product-market fit are going to explode. OPG is still early enough that you can get in before the crowd catches on.
