Grayscale and Republic Launch 3 Crypto Investment Products : DeFi and AI Take Center Stage
The next phase of crypto investing may be about gaining exposure to entire sectors rather than choosing individual tokens.
On October 15, Grayscale partnered with Republic to make three crypto investment products available through Republic’s platform, with a minimum investment of $2,500 for eligible investors. The offerings cover three themes:
~ DeFi Fund: UNI, AAVE, ONDO, ENA, CRV and LDO.
~ Decentralized AI Fund: NEAR, TAO, RENDER and FIL.
~ Data Network Trust: Exposure to the DATA token and its data infrastructure ecosystem.
My take: This is an important development because it brings professionally managed exposure to DeFi, decentralized AI and blockchain-based data infrastructure into one investment platform. Investors can access these strategies without personally purchasing and securing every underlying token.
But there is a crucial catch: these are private-placement products restricted to eligible, accredited US investors. They carry liquidity restrictions, substantial risk and the possibility of losing the entire investment.
The real question is whether these sectors can deliver sustainable adoption, not just attract institutional attention.
Which area has the strongest long-term potential: DeFi, decentralized AI or on-chain data?
