Deutsche Bank warned Friday that an AI-driven selloff could weigh on U.S. stocks and the dollar. Foreign investors hold more than $20 trillion in U.S. stocks, leaving them exposed to the risk of simultaneous declines in the stock market and exchange rates. Bloomberg reported that George Saravelos, Deutsche Bank’s global head of FX research, outlined this risk in a client note. However, Friday’s trading did not show this combination: stocks, gold and bitcoin fell, while the dollar held firm. Saravelos did not predict a market crash and said markets had underestimated the two-way risks facing the dollar in recent weeks.
