If you’ve seen the word Staking in the Binance app and it sounds like something you don’t understand, don’t worry! It happened to all of us at the beginning. You don’t need to be a programmer or a blockchain expert to understand it.
I’ll explain it to you in plain language, without beating around the bush:
💡 What is staking in simple terms?
Imagine that a crypto network (like Solana or Ethereum) needs “security guards” to verify that transactions are real. Instead of using giant computers that consume electricity, the network uses the community’s cryptocurrencies to stay strong and secure.
When you do Staking, you "lend" your coins to the network to help support it. And in return for your help... the network rewards you with daily or weekly earnings! 🎁
Binance takes care of all the technical hassle for you. You just put your coins to work and collect your returns.
⚙️ The 2 types of Staking you’ll come across:
🔒 1. Locked Staking:
You leave your coins stored for a fixed period (e.g., 30, 60, or 90 days). In exchange for leaving the coins "immobile," they typically offer a higher profit rate (APR). That said, you can’t withdraw them casually from one moment to the next.
💧 2. Flexible or Liquid Staking:
It gives you much more freedom. You can withdraw your money whenever you want, or they give you an equivalent token so you can keep moving your capital while you continue generating rewards.
🛑 BE CAREFUL! Don’t confuse Staking with Saving USDT
Keeping digital dollars (USDT) in Earn is like a traditional fixed-term deposit (since returns come from loans). Staking is exclusive to coins like SOL, ETH, or ADA, and the gains come from the blockchain network itself.
⚠️ 3 Things you should know before doing Staking:
1️⃣ The coin’s price moves: You’ll earn more coins, but if the price of that crypto drops in the market, the value of your portfolio also falls.
2️⃣ Rates are not fixed forever: The percentage of profit (APR/APY) is adjusted depending on how many people are participating in the network.
3️⃣ Check the withdrawal days: If you decide to withdraw your Locked Staking early, there is usually a waiting period of several days for the funds to return to your Spot Wallet.
💡 My advice: If you have coins for the long term that you don’t plan to sell tomorrow, put them in Staking so they don’t stay frozen without producing anything.
