According to the President of the USA, Donald Trump, Nicolás Maduro and his wife are out of Venezuela. During the early hours of this Saturday, January 3rd, Fuerte Tiuna and other facilities were bombed as part of a large-scale attack.

The President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, announced early this morning through his platform Truth Social that U.S. military forces have successfully carried out a large-scale operation in Venezuelan territory, resulting in the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
According to the message published by the president, the operation was carried out in coordination with security forces and intelligence agencies. Trump confirmed that Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, have been detained and transferred out of Venezuela.
Out of the country
The president described the action as a "large-scale attack" aimed at restoring order and responding to rising tensions in the region. Although the exact location of Maduro was not specified, the president assured that he is no longer on Venezuelan soil.
The president has called an official press conference for today, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM (EST), from his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, where the president is expected to provide additional details about the mission and the future of bilateral relations.
Bombing
The announcement comes after a night of reports about explosions and overflights of aircraft in Caracas, the capital of the Caribbean country, and other major cities in Venezuela. The Venezuelan government, prior to the confirmation of the capture, had denounced the events as a "serious military aggression" and a violation of its national sovereignty.
During the early hours of this Saturday, January 3, U.S. military forces bombed the military facility Fuerte Tiuna, in the capital of the country, as well as other facilities in the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira.

A video of the Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, is circulating on social media, in which she claims they do not know the whereabouts of the Venezuelan president.
