Everyone knows that a Node is an important part of protecting the blockchain, but how to protect it is something many might not know. Nodes protect the system through a majority consensus mechanism rather than relying on a single individual.

🔸 1. Preventing Double Spending:

In the digital world, copying and pasting a file is something you can do in an instant. A coin is also a digital file, so how can we prevent someone from using 1 Bitcoin to buy goods in two places at the same time?

  • The mechanism is that when you send money, all Nodes will check your entire transaction history.

  • If Node A sees that you have already spent that money, it will issue a Fraud judgment! and reject your deposit order. Node B, C, D... will do the same. Fraudulent transactions will be eliminated right at the door because they do not match the public ledger.

🔸 2. Anti-Censorship:

  • The network consists of thousands of independently operating Nodes. If Node A hates you and blocks your transaction, that transaction will automatically seek out Node B, Node C to be processed.

  • There is no Power Off button. To block a transaction, you must go knock on the doors of thousands of Node operators around the world to make them turn off their machines at the same time.

🔸 3. The only way to hack Blockchain is to gain control of over 51% of the Nodes. But game theory prevents this:

  • To attack Bitcoin, you need to invest tens of billions of dollars to buy mining machines and electricity. And no one has that kind of money to do that.

  • Even if you successfully attack, trust in the network will collapse -> Bitcoin price will fall to 0. You spend billions to steal a pile of worthless money. 👉 Node turns the attack into a money-losing action.

🔹 The banking system is secure thanks to Law and Police. Blockchain is secure thanks to Nodes and Economics. In a world full of volatility, do you trust in the integrity of people or the fairness of money?

Do you feel more secure when your assets are protected by a centralized Fortress or by tens of thousands of mutually monitoring eyes?
