It sounds unbelievable, but that viral story claiming Terra/Luna founder Do Kwon was arrested with a Trezor wallet holding 10,000 BTC hidden in his body is completely fake. It started as a crypto meme and hoax right after his real arrest in March 2023. In reality, Do Kwon was caught in Montenegro while trying to escape using forged passports. No credible outlet—like Reuters, Bloomberg, or the BBC—ever reported anything about a hidden hardware wallet or any bizarre body search. Those viral images were edited satire that spread during peak bear-market chaos. After being extradited to the US, he pleaded guilty to fraud related to the $40 billion Terra/Luna collapse and was sentenced to 15 years in prison this month (December 2025).
