Bitcoin surged last night, quickly dropping after reaching the 90,000 mark. The subsequent bullish momentum weakened, and gains began to be fully retraced. Currently, the price has fallen below expectations, returning to around the 86,000 mark. However, the short-term trend is in a weak consolidation, with lows nearing the previous support level of 85,000. If this area is broken, further downward testing is expected.

From the short-term four-hour chart, the hourly K-line shows significant selling pressure at the 90,000 mark. On December 17 at 20:00, a long upper shadow appeared and quickly fell back; the daily line has closed below 88,000 for three consecutive days, forming a descending three-method pattern. In the short term, a double bottom support is forming around 86,000, but the 4-hour MACD is weak after a golden cross below the zero line (the histogram is only 4.3), and the daily MACD still maintains a death cross. Overall, the price is constrained by moving averages across all time frames, currently sitting below the 4-hour EMA7 (86,748). It is expected that the price still has the potential for further downward testing, so the current trend does not recommend blindly chasing long positions, and one should be cautious of the price dropping again. The current trend is in a downward consolidation, and recent gains have been absorbed, so it is advised to focus on short positions during rebounds. The upper resistance is at 89,300, while the lower support break is still at around 85,000.
