Institutional Investors Target $100 as 3.7 Million LTC Are Accumulated
Since 2021, LTC has remained trapped in a prolonged downtrend, leading many retail investors to overlook its weak price performance. Despite its status as one of the longest-standing altcoins, LTC has largely faded from the spotlight amid persistent market drawdowns.
However, recent data points to quietly improving fundamentals, prompting analysts to argue that Litecoin could be positioning itself for a move back above the $100 level.
Institutional accumulation has emerged as a key driver behind this narrative. As corporations and financial institutions expand their digital asset treasuries and crypto ETFs continue to gain traction, LTC has become part of this broader trend. According to data from the Litecoin Register, by the end of 2025, corporate treasuries and ETFs collectively held nearly 3.7 million LTC, valued at over $296 million.
The Litecoin Foundation noted that more than 3.7 million LTC are now held by 10 publicly listed companies and investment funds, representing an increase of roughly 1 million LTC since August 2025. Accumulation has remained steady over the past year, even though LTC failed to print a new high in 2025. Notable holders include Grayscale, Lite Strategy, and Luxxfolio Holdings, with Luxxfolio targeting 1 million LTC in reserves by 2026.
Beyond accumulation, LTC continues to stand out for its network reliability. A recent report highlighted that Litecoin has maintained 100% uptime for over 12 years, ranking it among the most operationally stable legacy blockchains. This level of consistency is particularly attractive to institutional capital seeking dependable infrastructure.
Meanwhile, derivatives data adds a bullish layer to the outlook. Top traders on Binance have significantly increased long positions on LTC in mid-DEC, signaling rising confidence in upside potential. Together, institutional inflows, network stability, and improving market positioning are reinforcing expectations that Litecoin may not remain below $100 for much longer.
