Binance uses two types: ๐ Partial Liquidation If your account is low but not fully drained: They close part of your position Reduce leverage Try to keep you alive This prevents full wipeouts. ๐ด Full Liquidation If losses are too high: Binance closes your entire position Remaining margin is taken to cover the loss Your futures wallet can even go to 0.

Once your account hits the liquidation price, Binance will: ๐ Automatically close your position Their system tries to sell/close your trade at the best price possible to limit losses. You're not asked for confirmation. The system protects itself from you owing money.

How does Binance calculate when you get liquidated? The formula is: Liquidation Price = price at which your losses hit your maintenance margin. Each leverage level has a different liquidation distance. Examples: Using 2x leverage โ liquidation price is FAR away (safer). Using 50x or 100x leverage โ liquidation price is VERY close (dangerous). A small price move can wipe you out.

What triggers a liquidation? Liquidation happens when your losses become too big and your account doesnโt have enough margin to keep the trade open. The key number is: ๐ Maintenance Margin This is the minimum amount you need to keep your position alive. If your account balance (margin) falls below this level โ liquidation starts.
