Crypto just posted its worst weekly performance since July 2024. Everyone is treating that like a death sentence. Worth checking what happened next last time.
July 2024: same headlines, same panic, same "this cycle is over" takes. Bitcoin was sitting under $55K with ETF outflows dominating the feed. Three months later it was printing $70K. Five months later it hit $100K.
That does not mean this week's flush is a guaranteed replay. But the structure is similar — violent shakeout, AI and macro rotation pulling capital temporarily, sentiment at multi-month lows, and on-chain holder behavior that does not match the price action. Long-term holders are not moving coins. That gap matters.
$ETH is approaching a level that has historically acted as a strong technical floor. $SOL is compressing after extended outperformance. Neither is flashing the kind of on-chain distribution you see at actual cycle tops.
The hardest part of any cycle is holding conviction during the weeks that feel like endings. July 2024 felt like an ending. It was not.
The question is not whether this is the bottom. The question is whether you will still be positioned when the narrative flips.
