๐ Two years of closed doors that ended this Thursday
The General Consulate of the Dominican Republic in Caracas resumed operations on October 1 after remaining inactive for more than two years. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex) confirmed the information, stating that the headquarters, led by the Consul General Hรฉctor Pastor Vรกsquez, is already providing its full range of services to both Dominicans and foreigners.
Among the procedures available are assistance and protection for Dominican citizens, passport applications, route letters, notarial powers, travel authorizations, and the registration of nationals. For PitbullChain, however, the truly relevant detail is not in the list of services, but in what this closure and reopening meant for the informal economy of Venezuelans who rely on a signed document obtained outside the country.
