Binance Discloses Investigation Results, $24.10 Million Linked to IRGC Binance issued a compliance statement in response to media reports about its funds flow related to Iran, saying that the relevant reports contained inaccuracies.
Binance stated that its investigation found a complex network of funds across Asia and the Middle East. The funds initially came from regulated stablecoin issuers and Singaporean digital payment service providers. After multiple layers of wallet transfers, approximately $126.10 million flowed into wallets related to Iran, of which approximately $24.10 million was related to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran.
Binance stated that the relevant funds neither originated from nor terminated on the platform. After identifying suspicious activity, it has taken the relevant accounts offline and reported them to law enforcement agencies. It also denied dismissing employees due to compliance investigations. The company stated that its compliance investment has significantly reduced its exposure to sanctions-related risks and continues to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
