Majority of the systems do not fail.
They break at “almost done.”
This was the week I was not paying attention to uptime, latency, or model accuracy. I was observing something less dramatic: how many times the system had to be intervened with by humans once it was already saying complete.
That’s the real stress test.
A task may arouse actions, relocate balances, update states - and yet never be really final. When it is not engineered at the phase level whether it is reversible or not, the human being becomes a rollback layer.
And rollback scales badly.
It is not a model problem that I am noticing.
It’s a finality problem.
Evidence is not obligated to provide changeovers.
Policies have retroactive reinterpretations of outcomes.
You don’t get automation.
You receive better branding supervision.
The best systems do not optimize on speed.
At the right hand side they are optimized.
It is here that $ROBO is interesting but not as an AI wrapper, but as a coordination layer to specify what committed means.
When partial work cannot seeping forward, the pay does not increase.

Failure is not the most expensive word in distributed work systems.
