Lately, I haven't been on a winning streak; I've been grinding for days and just treading water, even taking some losses. It's exhausting, and I think I need to take a break since I've lost my touch. When trading contracts goes smoothly, it's usually just a matter of jumping in and making profits without holding positions. My current state isn't great; if I hit my stop-loss on this trade, I’m done and not planning to keep playing.
I consulted my crypto buddy for some insights, and they mentioned that I’m too fired up this first half of the month. If I keep trading, I might end up losing money, so I should heed their advice. Is it true that we might dip after May 20th before a rally? It feels like we haven’t hit bottom yet. Since I'm bullish, I usually end up losing when I short; overall, I've made more profit going long.
The altcoins got shaken out too; I just got the news that we're already at 0.026. A small loss is a loss, I guess. Regrettably, I didn’t cash out when I had a $500 profit. It seems like the upper limit for profits lately is around 500 bucks; anything over that feels hard to maintain. Missed that 500 bucks and ended up losing 700, and now I’m stuck with my second position.
When trading contracts is easy, profits come fast and easy. But when losses hit, the only way to break free from that trap is to take a break and avoid further losses; otherwise, I might just lose even more.
I’ve controlled my capital well; I still have a chance to recover my heavy positions. My contract funds don’t make up a large portion of my principal, but many regular traders aren’t in that boat. When they take a big loss, it’s tough to bounce back. I’ve seen too many examples of this during my two years in the game, and I think everyone’s tired of hearing it.
It’s hard to help others make money when sometimes I’m losing myself.
I can only cash out profits in time and keep my funds safe, giving myself a chance to recover when I hit a rough patch.
I’ve talked about these theories way too much; how many can actually put them into practice? Withdrawing profits, cashing out—I think very few can genuinely do it with extreme discipline to control themselves.
Last night, I transferred 60,000 to my HK card right away, not giving the whales a chance to make me take big losses. That’s my self-protection method because I don’t know whether my next position will be profitable or not, playing a tactical game against the whales.
