Could $HYPE reach $300 by 2028?
Multicoin Capital believes it can. The investment firm says it is still accumulating $HYPE and considers it one of the largest positions in its liquid fund.
According to its base-case forecast, HYPE could reach $319 by 2028, driven by Hyperliquid's ecosystem growth, rising protocol revenue, and its daily token buyback mechanism. 👀
As a quick reminder, HYPE is currently trading around $63.43. From a technical perspective, the chart still looks constructive despite the recent pullback.
Of course, $300 is a very ambitious target—it would require both continued protocol growth and a favorable crypto market over the next few years.

This has only happened 3 times before in Bitcoin's history: 2014, 2019, and 2022.
But here's what's interesting.
Every single time, Bitcoin bottomed within the next 1-2 quarters and started a new major rally.

That's the bull case in today's valuation report from @multicoin.
They've made HYPE one of their largest liquid fund positions after accumulating aggressively since February.
Their 2028 price targets for $HYPE:
- Bear case: $109
- Base case: $319
- Bull case: $689
One part that really stood out to me was the comparison with BNB. Back in 2019, Multicoin published a report on BNB when it was around $10. Today, BNB trades above $560.
They believe the market underestimated Binance back then, and it's making the same mistake with @HyperliquidX today.
According to them, Hyperliquid is following a similar path, but with a few structural advantages:
- Fully on-chain and non-custodial
- 99% of protocol revenue goes to HYPE buybacks
- No VC equity sitting above token holders
Whether HYPE gets anywhere close to these price targets or not, the report does a great job explaining the bull case.

This happened 👀
Bitcoin has already gone through this twice before. After the 2017 bull top, BTC corrected around 83%.
After the 2021 bull top, BTC corrected around 77%.
If 2025 was another cycle top, then a similar correction puts Bitcoin somewhere near or under $30K.
That is the scary part.
Because the market is still pricing this like the bear market is about to be over.
👉 THE FINAL BLEED PHASE
The worst part of every Bitcoin cycle usually comes after people stop believing the crash can go deeper.
Just like in March 2022, when 2 green months made everyone believe that the bottom was in.
At first, the dip feels healthy. Then it becomes frustrating.
Then it becomes boring. Then suddenly the final leg down wipes out everyone who survived the first few drops.
That is where this chart gets uncomfortable.
BTC is already trading far below the 2025 highs, momentum is weak, and the structure looks like it could be entering the same late-cycle bleed zone that destroyed confidence in 2018 and 2022.
👉 ALTS COULD GET HIT HARDER
If Bitcoin really moves toward $30K, altcoins will not just “correct.”
They will get repriced.
Most alts are already bleeding against BTC. Liquidity is thin. Retail attention is gone.
And if Bitcoin loses another major leg, the market will likely rotate into survival mode again.
That means forced selling, broken supports, lower liquidity, and brutal candles across the board.
This is where portfolios can look fine one week and completely wrecked the next.
👉 BUT HERE IS THE TWIST
The same zone that creates the most fear can also create the real bottom.
Every cycle bottom looks obvious only after the recovery starts.
So yes, this chart looks dangerous. Bitcoin under $30K is no longer a crazy thought if the old correction pattern repeats.
