One L1 is actively “moving” to another L1, and this time ZetaChain has clearly laid out all the migration details.

The community’s latest proposal has announced the mechanism, timeline, and holder protections for the migration to Solana: ZetaChain will take a snapshot of all ZETA balances at a specified block height and mint the corresponding supply on Solana before the migration portal opens, ensuring full 1:1 redemption. Starting December 9, 2026, holders can claim their tokens through the ZetaHub migration portal; at the same snapshot block height, ZetaChain L1 will officially shut down.

Holders should pay close attention to three things: First, ZETA on Ethereum is not affected by this proposal, so no action is needed. Second, the migration portal and its underlying processes are undergoing an independent security review. The report will be shared in a future announcement, so there is no need to rush into transferring tokens before the audit is complete. Third, be sure to use official channels to access the claim portal—phishing links posing as migration-related are likely to become more common soon.

The community previously passed the migration proposal with 99.4% approval, and the token ticker and code will remain unchanged after the migration. Rather than marking the project’s farewell, this is more like the entire chain’s assets and liquidity moving to a new foundation and starting afresh. The upcoming snapshot block height and audit report will be the real milestones to watch.
