The United States and Iran have preliminarily accepted a Pakistan-mediated proposal, while WTI and Brent crude prices fell about $0.80 in the short term. According to ChainCatcher, Israel's Channel 12 reported that Pakistan's army chief submitted the proposal to senior Iranian officials today; the United States approved it, and Iran gave preliminary agreement. The proposal partly addresses Iran's demand for the return of frozen assets, providing for interest generated by $6 billion in Iranian funds frozen at banks in Qatar to be transferred to Iran. WTI crude was quoted at $97.51 per barrel and Brent at $105.76 per barrel.
